just read http://www.syty.huryde.com/?page_id=36 and there it says IAC-counts should be from 1-50 , clear so far ...

... but my DMfile shows 66 counts under the discribed condtions - what does that mean ??

... and the volts are also a little low (13,2V) but the alt is 1yr old (if important for that) ??

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

btw, what i recognized - when reving the truck in N, it revs nice but sometimes it quits after that - whats going on here :dunno:

TIA,pat.

I'm not 100% sure here,but I think the IAC is 0-100

Do this Pat:

To reset the IAC:
With the engine warmed up and the truck shut off, jumper the 2 top right ports on the ALDL.Turn the key to on (you should hear the IAC spinning.)Wait 30 seconds, then turn the key off.Remove the jumper.Pull the ECMB fuse out then put it back in.Start the truck. It should find it's own idle.

That's a bit high. Reset your ECM as directed, and/or take the IAC out and clean it and the bore it screws into.

A lot of aftermarket chips do the decel die thing. It's a programming issue.

Voltage - Check all the grounds, and clean 'em. Rebuilt alternators are known to have problems, also, sometimes right out of the box. Measure voltage at the alternator, not in the DM data.

Also, more things to check...

Vacuum leak (Although this would cause your IAC to go the other way) or a bad o2 sensor.

The fact that your IAC counts are odd might indicate that it's (The IAC valve) generally having trouble. Dies at decel and odd-ball idle counts could both be caused by a bad IAC.

Re: whats up with my IAC counts ?

dig,

now thats interesting, because when swapping the engine i also renewed the vac-sys w/ siliconlines ...

wouldnt a bad O2 sensor throw a code ??

that means - if after reseting the IAC, problms are still on - the valve itself should be bad ??

By jumper you mean another 12v power and ground or do u mean just using a paperclip and connecting the pos and neg together?

Isnt it the same to jumper those same two for the trouble codes?
This also resets the IAC when done with the ECM fuse pull?
