Try searching in the "post a picture of your syty" thread. You'd be shocked how many people actually posted a picture..

Well, how the truck looks without spacers is going to be different with different wheels. Some aftermarket wheels have the correct offsets, so all 4 sit flush, like the stockers. Other aftermarket wheels will have incorrect offsets. Generally speaking, aftermarket wheels without the correct off sets, and without spacers, sit 28mm in on the rear. Like if you take a set of four 17" Corvette wheels for example. The fronts bolts right on and line up perfect. The rear will sit in 28mm per side.

^^^ Add to that the number of good looking wheels with the correct factory offsets is extremely low. Additionally, the fact that most everyone with aftermarket wheels prefer to have the rears sit out where they were intended (in relation to the cladding), which results in basically no pictures of what you are looking for.

Yeah i figured... I know what backspace and offset is... I was just tryin to get an idea of which wheels would come remotely close. Cuz it seems impossible to find a set for the Sytys because of their weird backspacing in the rear.

yup it is, and the fact that these trucks are "old", means wheel manufactures really arent making anything directly for our trucks, or even the older cars who shared similar offsets like the C4 Vette.

So your options are limited to ZR1 wheels, trying to find a set of old American Racing wheels with the correct offsets, going with an expensive set from a manufacture such as Fikse, or going to a completely custom wheel made for you.

Just curious, I have a chance to get a set of 88 corvette wheels with nice tires for $350. Will these need spacers or fit with out spacers? Reason I ask is that I have a set of ZR1 wheels with spacers on the back, and I don't want to run spacers.

They will need spacers. The only C4 wheel in the rear that can be run without spacers are Grand Sport 17x11's and ZR-1 17x11 (which stick out a little bit)

Most of the wheels you look at need spacers, so you are going to be VARY limited in the wheels with no spacers, I been down this road A few times before, ZR1 wheels don't need spacers. Grand sport wheels don't, need them. I run spacers on mine, never had A problum running them. I painted them black & by looking right at the wheels you can't tell there even on there, looks good. With spacers it is going to take you from like 3-4 wheels with no spacers to like 30 different wheels. Why do you want wheels with no spacers? Just make sure you get hub centric ones.

Re: Wheels on stock Sytys

I'm never gonna run spacers. My buddies spacer snapped coming around a corner and got up on two wheels. My ty would flip over if that shit happened. i've asked many people... and they just say "the way you drive... hell no!", and they just look really sketchy.

No spacer or axle setback plate. 18 x 9.5 up front 18 x 10.5 out back. Sits in a little much for my taste in the rear but it still looks alright.

Re: Wheels on stock Sytys

BMW 3-series front (normally offset 38-40mm) and 5-series rear (normally offset 18-20mm) fits pretty close. A thin 5mm chim will even out front and rear.
Then ofcourse this is for 8" wide rims. When choosing another width of the rim than 8", then its a whole diffrent game.

There's alot of beemers rims out there, and many of them for both the 3 and 5 series.
