Ebay..........not Everybody Is Running Oem Wheels.as A Matter Of Fact Some Of The Aftermarket Wheels Have A Better Warranty. Not Sure About The Offset Prob..i Have Zr1 Wheels That Bolted Right Up W/o The Use Of Spacers. I Think The Z06 Wheels Will Require Spacers On The Rear For Them To Line Up W/ The Cladding...not Sure Though :bad-word:

try jim longwith aka 0-60n4. he used to deal in wheels and should be able to hook you up as well as tell you what works and what doesn't

Stick with OEM wheels if you can. Most of the aftermarket wheels are 4 to 6 lbs a piece heavier. (goes from like 21 to 26 lbs, which is no small change in rotating weight). Just figured I'd mention it.

I got mine from jim, and they worked out great. I love the gunmetal...I head OE isn't making the Gunmetal anymore though.

The size's are different between the front and back on the stockers so think about that too. Plus the 01' Z06 wheels are magnesium. Big dollars for those. Go with aftermarket.

Yeah, the stock size fronts are 17" x9.5" Rears are 18" x 10.5" Just remember that you've got to match TIRE diameter front and rear or else your transfer case will protest.

Actually, all of the Z06 wheels are aluminum. There have been two factory vendors (Alcoa & Speedline), and they used two different production techniques. The early wheels were forged (Alcoa), the later wheels were spuncast (Speedline). Forgings are slightly heavier (about .4 to .5 lbs each) but are stronger since they're forged.

The standard corvette (non Z06) had a factory option for Magnesium wheels. They're reported to be 2 pounds lighter than the production wheels (either the "wagon wheel" style or the later "thin spoke" styles) @ around 17 lbs for the 17"x8.5"fronts and 19lbs for the 18"x9.5" rears. (vs 19 & 21 for the "Wagons" and "thin spokes", I've got a set of 4 18" x 9.5" rear "wagon wheels" and I've weighed them ==> 21lbs each.) And yes, the magnesiums are a bit more expensive and don't sell nearly as often (must have been the fact that the mags were a $3000 dollar option). But the clearcoat on them is also extremely soft, and prone to chip. And you can't polish the magnesium very effectively. Many of them end up powdercoated.

As a side note, the production Z06 wheels are about the same weight (or lighter) than the standard wheels (wagons or thin spokes), especially the early forgings, even though they're 1" wider than the wagons & thins spokes. Most reproduction Z06 wheels are a fair bit heavier (the 18"x10.5" are reported to be 26 to 27 lbs).
