Where do I start?

I am a new SyTy owner. I have an 87 Grand National and have a pretty good understanding of the turbo cars. After looking around this site for a while I am now not sure of where I need to start. I am looking for a "scan master" type of instrument to monitor the motor during normal driving conditions and a "data logger" for a more indepth tuning needs. I have a '93 white/white Ty. It came with an adjustable chip, maybe an "ultimate". The chip has several settings, these include, SEC, VAL, T-115, T-116, T-117, T-118, T-120, T-122, T-217, T-218, T-220, T-222, T-318, T-320, T-322 and T-324. I am hoping to learn about these truck. I do understand they are VERY different than the buicks. Also what are the most common upgrades to the trucks, i.e. fuel pump, down pipe, intercooler, chip, 3 bar map, turbo, etc. I want to keep to truck reliable for daily driving needs but also what to get all of the performance I can out of it. Any and all assistance will be welcome.

Welcome man, First all where do i start? haha well i would buy datamaster, and a connection to a laptop from a supplier like detroit turbo , or sytyperformance. and it sounds like you have an utimate which is a great 3 bar map, a common pump upgrade is the walboro 255 which is good from 600-700 hp, the stock intercooler is wonderful if you upgrade to a higher flowing pump, i would see what parts you are running and then see what chip setting is best. And to run more than stock boost you need high octane fuel or you will detonate. (Probally know that), the trannys on these things suck and a good built one is around 2000 bucks. But it will get you into the mid 11s if your lucky .. and people shuold add on from here,

WELCOME:cheers:

This site is the shit!!! http://www.powertuneplus.com/

it was written by a fellow member, first read the "getting your truck in the 13s"( http://www.powertuneplus.com/syclone/howto_stock13s.shtm ) and then once your truck has all those mods and tune ups, go on from there to get more power

good luck!
