Which chip is this?

I have what I guess is a chip in my glove box. It was there when I bought the truck and I'm not sure what it is! It has red digital read out and the numbers start at T115 and goes up through 320 something or so!!! Also it reads "sec" which will stall the truck when set to this and it reads "val"! Can someone please tell me the deal with whatever this is??? And how to use it properly?

Like I said before,,,,, This truck is a learning experience for me, but I am very interested in it and willing to learn! :-?

Thanks for any help and God bless!

Read those links. Basically, you have "SECurity" which keeps the truck from running, "VALet" to severely limit the truck when you have to let others drive it, and a bunch of different driving programs. T115 means "Timing level 1, 15psi". Likewise, T220 means 'Timing level 2, 20psi". T1-15 is closest to stock, and what you should keep it at until you're sure everything is working 100%. If it's not in good running order, the other programs can turn into engine replacement programs. =) Read the manual. Get a scantool.

P.S. Read those links.

P.P.S. Get a scantool.

Dang

Thanks fellows for the speedy help! I can tell now that I have A LOT of learning to do! This truck is so much different from the mustangs that I have been dealing with! Also much more fun!

Where do I get the type scan-tool that I need? Not that I will know what to do with when I do get it!

Slow-Clone........ My Cobra is pretty much stock except for the S-trim, exhaust, fuel sys and lots of TLC!!! Boost is @ 10psi! It is for sale now! BTW, how do I post pics on here?

Thanks,
James

One more thing.... the gizzmo in my glove box only has "one" button for toggling! The link that you guys sent says something about TWO bottons, one for toggling up and one for down! Not sure about that one!

Get DataMaster or TurboLink. I know of at least one person who bought TL and is now switching back to DM. It seems to me that the dash display of TL is more of a novelty thing that wears off. It supports lots of vehicles, but DM is pretty tried and true for SyTy's.

Probably one of the features of a newer version...

I think I know of one as well. The TurboLink display is a novelty as far as i am concerned. Datamaster has more of what you need on one screen. Everytime I use turbostink it pisses me off.

Stay out of WOT until you learn how Datamaster works and how the syty engine systems operate. MOST of the trucks owned by non-gearheads or forsale that I have inspected for people were downright scary when I first Dataloggged them. A few of those are now in the 12's

Thanks guys :D

Man, I wish I knew half as much about these trucks as you guys do!!!!!!!
I'm definitely not in the best location to learn because no one anywhere near me has one! I'm sure there are some people in Jacksonville FL that has Syclones but I sure don't know how to go about getting in touch with them.

Oh well, I'm just very thankful for this site and the help that you guys give me! I'll keep on chugging along, checking things out and gathering info as I go!

God Bless

Almost everything I know about these trucks I learned on this board. Chances are, anything you want to ask has been covered. Due to board crashes and a flaky search feature, you may not be able to find the info you need. If you searched and couldn't find anything, mention that. People generally don't mind helping newbies. However, it's quicker and more informative for you to do a search, than to post a stupid question, have one of us search, then reply with a few of the links from the search results. If you can't be bothered to spend 10 seconds searching before making a post, why should we think that you'll even bother to take our advice, ya know?

Also, FreeScan supports SyTy's, works with homemade cables, and is (you guessed it) free. If you just want some gauges to look at, that's a whole lot cheaper than TL. =) http://cable.invisibill.net/ has some links...

I use the search feature many, many times before I post a question! Maybe I need to better learn how to use the search because it doesn't do very much for me the way I'm using it now!!! I'm sure I must be doing it wrong! But I really do appreciate you guys taking your time to help! And yes,,,, I do take your advise. I'd be crazy not to!

I have several questions that I cannot seem to find an answer to by searching, but I hate to post them here and get flamed! One of those "damned if I do, damed if I don't" kind of things,,, ya know

Again,,, thanks and God bless,
James
