Hello,

I am from Germany and have following Question.
Which Rearaxles fit´s plug and play in my Syclone. My Axle ist damaged and i wont make a Breake update with Diskbrakes.
Fits the Axle from S10 Blazer up 97´ ???
If dont fit any Reaxle with Diskbrakes, can anyone say me from whitch other S10 Modell the axle fit ?? Whitch Gear-Ratio has the Syclone?
The repair of my Axle is to expensive at my US-Garage/Dealer

Sorry for my terrible English

GM 4wd rear end with 3.42 ratio will fit, Blazer or Pickup.

8.8 will not work. And please think about it before you respond.

Ralf, get ahold of Turbomaniacal (Ryan) on here. He's in Germany and will be able to help you out.

There are several different ways to identify the gear ratio. The easiest and most accurate is to remove the rear cover off of the differential and look at the numbers on the ring gear. If the axle is still insalled in the donor vehicle you can look in the glove box at the sticker which has all of the option codes on it and those codes will tell you what gear ratio is supposed to be in that vehicle. I dont have the code in front of me for 3:42 ratio but its easily located on the net by searching or someone may chime in from this forum with it. Be very careful using these codes as it is possible that the rear axle has been changed at some point for the wrong one for whatever reason and the actual gear ratio in the axle may not be what the sticker in the glove box says it should be.

Has the Sy an locked Diff ?
Yes. Its actually a limited slip but for simplicities sake its a "locked" diff.

FYI. Provided it hasnt been removed there should be a metal label attached to the rear cover of the axle that is stamped "limited slip" which tells you that the diff youre looking at has limited slip installed. Unfortunately it wont tell you what gear ratio the axle is but it will help you narrow down your search some if you have to look at a number of uninstalled axles in a big pile.

Also the normal 4WD S10/Blazer ??
Yes, the rear axles from the 4WD chevy S10 Blazer/truck, GMC Jimmy/Sonoma, or Oldmobile Bravada SUV is the piece you are looking for.

GU6 is the RPO code for 3.42's

The AWD system. Ford doesn't make 3.42 gears so the 8.8 (3.27 and 3.55 are the closest) would be mismatched to the front end. The 8.8 would be fine in a 2wd S-10 application.

I started to ask. Then I deleted my post when I figured it out.
