Which sway bar would you go with?

Hello,
So decided to do the rear sway bar for ty 1830 (im new at all of this bear with me...)

1. Which brand should I go with for the rear sway bar? what size tubing is best? how painful are these to install myself? do these kits come with detailed instructions?

2. Doing the ZQ8 steering box as well, is there anything else that I need or is recommended when I do this intall?, how about a aftermarket wheel, which did you guys go? how much of an improvement did it make if any and which size wheel? the stock steering is a mess and i'm sure you all know this, I'm a ****ing noob when it comes to ty modding so all the info on this is much appreciated thanks again!

I'd go with the Belltech rear sway bar. Installs in maybe 20 minutes and you don't need to do any drilling.

I just did the ZQ8 on my truck and you'll need a pickle fork to get the pitman arm off. Also the ZQ8 I got didn't have a ball joint/drag link end on the pitman arm. No one locally had part and I was pressed for time so I just bought a new Moog pitman arm and put it on the ZQ8 box and tossed the old one.

Since you're doing the steering box, you might want to look into doing the Jeep steering shaft upgrade or you can go through RPM and get their steering shaft.

well all is complete head on down to the local shop and get an alignment done.

Ok guys great info thanks for the quick replies!, ordered the Bel sway, now Meph said something about putting in a Jeep steering shaft upgrade, which model jeep? you think its cheaper than going with the RPM? be nice to get all this upgraded at the same time.

Re: Which sway bar would you go with?

Our trucks understeer badly if pushed to the limit. One way to help with that is the larger sway bar in the rear, or smaller in the front.

Guys going larger in the front are actually making the problem worse unless they do other things such as stiffer rear springs which obviously can cause other issues also.

So my thoughts on rear, go big or go home.

Sway bar from an Xtreme. Anybody using an aftermarket sway bar that does any spirited driving should check the end links for bends. They typically use a grade 8 bolt between the bar and the frame that will bend under enough pressure.

The Xreme end links are much beefier:

I have the Bell tech 5524 and IMHO it's "meh". The way that it mounts outboard of the spring eye is a bad design. I would have liked the old ATR bar, but it would not work with the exhaust system I have on it.
