which to choose

this has probally been posted before but i am a noob to this site. I was thinking that if someone was selling both a syclone and a typhoon that were in perfect condition for $5000 each and all the money I had was $5000 which one would I buy. I first got into trucks when my dad gave me his 82' s15 which I sold and bought a very nice 85 s10. When I discovered what a syclone was I was amazed that such a truck existed. A little later I found out the typhoons existed. At first I wanted a syclone and then I wanted a typhoon. So what i'm getting at is I don't know which one i'd buy. I do know that these are the best trucks ever. Which one would you get?

Re: which to choose

It all depends on your purpose and preference, they are priced similar.

A Sy is lighter, launches better, has a pickup bed. The seats don't recline.

A Ty seats 4, leather seats, larger interior. The rear window tend to be squeaky. They also come in colors but black is still the most popular color.

Mechanically their is no major advantage betwen a 91,92 or 93.

Re: which to choose

good to know. I hope to be buying one in about 2 years, I gotta work on my truck for a bit. If I do buy one I know for sure that i'll be going to the us. I live in Saskatchewan and i'm sure there's not a single one in the province. And by one I mean a typhoon. maybe. hope so.

Re: which to choose

I chose the Typhoon strictly because of storage room, and the ability to haul people. I think the Syclone looks meaner, and I understand it performs better, but each are wicked fast. It just so happens that the first truck I bought was a Typhoon I stumbled onto, and the second one was the first good deal I found; happened to be another Typhoon.

Re: which to choose

I also went with a Ty for the people hauling effect ;)
Plus it's a little more luxury inside IMHO.....but if your need is speed over luxury.....the Sy is right for you...

If you are over 6'2" or have an extra-healthy gut, you should probably look in to a Typhoon over a Syclone for the leg room.

Re: which to choose

Buy the Ty, sell it for $10,000 (at least, assuming it isn't trashed), buy the Sy for $5,000, and you got a free truck!

-5,000 Bought Ty
+10,000 Sold Ty,
-5,000 Bought Sy
0, + you have a Sy

I'm 6'3 and about 230lbs and fit fine in my Sy, just try them both and see what you like. I'm kinda glad I don't have the extra people room, no one asks me to drive so I don't put near as many miles on the truck.
