Not the Double D you were thinking, get your mind out of the gutter.

Daily Driver

Who else on here drivers there syty daily. How many rely on it to start in the mornings in order to get to work?

No trailer queens or race bitches (got 1 of them myself), I want to know about parking at grocery store because you ran out of milk and diapers type drivers.

I knew we discussed this in the past, but with 4 yrs past I am sure things are different for a lot of people.

Also for those that do daily drive their syty's, post as to why?

Budget and can only afford 1 car, because you can, your x wife stole your prius and left you the ty hoping you would get stranded, etc.

Also Steve driving your ty 3 times a year around the block doesn't put you in the double D club.

Hey! I drive that truck every day...in my head! :cool:

If I had one for semi-daily use, I would drive it purely for the purpose of fun. I have a 13 mile drive to work and wouldn't mind a little "adventure" now and then.

Well... I was kind of depressed about our trucks many issues... The guy that rents my house here at the shop broke his car so he borrowed the shop truck "Shamoo"

Our Ty had sat since last October. So I had to start driving it daily... Driving it made me work on all the stuff I've been putting off..... I needed to work out all the bugs in it so I'm working on the list of stuff
I need to during the week and trying to get it all fixed so I can put it away here in the next month or so with nothing to do next year but enjoy it. (Crossing fingers)
So for the last few months I've driven it about every day with improvements in the process... with more
to come.
It's not our "Main" Vehicle but it's been pretty dependable for daily use!

Mine's a daily driver, about an 8-mile drive to work. I could save some money, and drive the wife's Grand Prix, but there certainly isn't the same fun driving that car.

I drive mine every day I'm back home and while I'm not there I'm getting all the little things that got neglected over the years by the previous owners to bring it up to date. To make it more reliable since I will be driving it 12+ hours to go to my work. When bought I put 3k miles in 2 weeks driving it from iowa to amarillo then back home. I drive it because I don't see no purpose on a vehicle just parked when it can get driven

I drove mine for 3 years daily...and through Chicago winters too. In those 3 years I added 75K miles, and it only let me down once when my belt tensioner melted. It is now retired from daily driving duties and slowly being upgraded and modded.

Side note; Jeff, I'm still planning to bring it down for the front coilover and new brakes...and more stuff I'm still collecting. I will give you a call soon.

My wife's is a daily driver. Mine was but has barely run in the last three years due to renovations. But FWIW, I raced a Viper on the way home once with the whole "trunk" filled with groceries :lol:

white ty--to run to the store,blazer broke down
green ty--lots of fun when it runs
syclone--stays in the garage,too damn had to keep clean

drive daily - race daily - this thing takes me every where with lots of mods done to it ! no winter driving at all . people think im crazy for parking da all wheel drive for the winter

mines a DD in the summer,if that counts..drive it nearly everyday.. shares time with my HD.
very dependable. only cost me a f/diff this year & regular maint...going to need tires next season.
New England winters are hard on vehicles soo its parked from around Thanksgiving,or the first real snow fall,sometimes as late at xmass..to around the end April after alot of rain...

Spring showers bring Typhoon power!

I average a little less than 10k per year, but I managed to put 165,000 miles on my Ty. I do drive it all year, but try to keep the salt off as much as possible.
Right now I'm waiting on repair/upgrade parts to fix the broken crankshaft coming back from Nats12! That's only the second time in 18 years it needed a tow truck.

Not normally a DD but I have been using it for work the last few weeks...I just enjoy driving it....I

I daily my syclone, drive it 5 days a week. Use it as a real truck too, moving my welder, random pieces of wood, and a pallet jack this week alone. It doesn't have a/c and it's been 100* here lately.
