No offense to the place but theres a huge difference between a "turbo" car and a sy/ty they are completely different make sure they know these trucks theres a reason we all work on our own and have this place its our "support group"

I agree. A lot of shops say they know turbo cars, but these things are best owned by people who will work on them. You have to learn how to work on them, yes you will make mistakes, but I have learned a lot from people in this group. I learned a lot!

Short answer nobody on long island knows these trucks better than the syty guys. What is the problem with it? What's done to it etc....what town are you in?

Re: Who fixes our trucks on Long Island????

Jobe Spetter is the man hands down on tuning DFI units, but he is not the man for a idle surge or hunting problem on my truck. I have talked to him in the past and have had him at my job were i dynoed a customers 600+hp turbo Suzuki Hayabusa and he tuned the Accel DFI. Jobe would tell me to rip out that junk ECU and run the real deal. lol. Plus i would never bother a guy who tunes 1600+hp turbo cars with my stupid trucks problem. I appreciate all the help from the members on the board as always. Its just that i want to take my truck to someone who works on these cars or enjoys these cars as much as us so that when i do bring it there, someone actually works on it!!!! lol..... I live in Patchogue its about 40 minutes from the city, but im trying to find someone in the near by area.

To get back at whats up with my truck, at idle it hunts or surges up and down. Ruff to poor idle just dosent seem to want to idle strong. I did just about all i could think. Vacuum lines, ignition module, ecu, chips, temp sensor, timing, cap rotor, plugs , wires, upper and lower gaskets, no ecu codes it dosent surge with the blk and tan wire disconnected ? I have been in the garage for two months lol i have tried everything i could think of with no results. Throw some ideas my way and ill be glad to try them or at least tell u i tried it already :)

I appreciate all the help, Donny

Re: Who fixes our trucks on Long Island????

check that the grounds are goos at the t-stat housing, on the backs of the heads , and down below the turbo on the frame rail , I like to losen them clean the heck out of them and reinstall, for some odd reason these trucks are real sensitive to ground issues

The truck has about 17,000 on it. It only surges at idle and it dosent do it with the blk and tan wire disconnected.

Check the rotor is in the right position, point to #1 cylinder when its at tdc. I also have a stock distributor.

Re: Who fixes our trucks on Long Island????

lol Thanks Denny i didnt forget about u or the ecu i just bolted on the new intercooler and i have to put a new battery in it also then i want to try to figure this out before im a 100 percent sure its not the ecu, i tried it real quick with the new ecu u gave me but i really couldnt tell cause i dint have a hose hooked up to the tb. Ill let u no about ur dizzy tho. Ur the man for sure, do u have a new truck in the garage to lol:tup: But in regards to the rotor it looks spot on i used a old one drilled out the number one spot on the dizzy cap and ran with it.
