Who loves SyTy's??

THIS GUY!

How many know who this is?

I was up in Massachusetts on Friday meeting with Steve on a potential project (more on that later). The only XL shirt I had that wasn't worn was this Sportsmachine shirt, which he graciously put on for a photo.

The dude's breadth of knowledge regarding cars is truly astounding!!

Anyway, thought this would cheer up the SyTy community given the state of things.

[Disclaimer: This does not imply endorsement of any company, product, or vehicle.] (that said, he probably would be okay with Sportsmachines using the photo as long as endorsement is not explicitly expressed)

That's awesome. Thanks Baythan! I'll gladly send you another shirt since you graciously gave yours away.

Yep, that guy is a hug car person. Probably ha forgotten more then some know. I liked it when he was at B-J auctions and they blind folded him and he felt his way around the car and guessed make and year. Cool picture.

"Feel the Steal" was the game where they guessed a car by touching it. Great game...and as it turns out, was Steve's idea.

He's been doing commentary at B-J for eleven years.

Re: Who loves SyTy's??

Met steve a few years ago here on the west coast at
Superior automotive in Anaheim Ca. He was doing a article on
A set of aftermarket hemi heads.

He is the same in person as he is on TV. Very friendly and answered all my dumb questions lol. To top it off he invited me into the dyno cell while they made wot dyno pulls to validate
the magazine article. Very cool day.

for real?

Go easy on Mark. He's a Brit. And I don't think Steve would be known over there. (Do they even show B-J over there?)

Cool. Yes. He's very nice.

He'll be at Carlisle in July for Chrysler Nationals.

Re: Who loves SyTy's??

I enjoy watching him on Barrett Jackson auctions. I bought his book a few years ago. Seems like a cool guy. Would like to meet him one day when I go back to Barrett Jackson.

For real.

I don't know him and no, we don't watch B-J over here though I know what it is through SyTy.net. The auctioneers are annoying as hell with all the fast talking and BS. It wouldn't be popular here at all. Cool cars nonetheless.

So he seems to be a popular figure over there so awesome job getting him into the t-shirt! Did he express any interest in the trucks? Great to have celebrities involved!

Re: Who loves SyTy's??

Is he the guy that walks around the car while its on the stage explaining tid-bits?

He's not always right. Once called a 69 Chevelle "Hugger Orange. Nope. 99616 is only "Hugger Orange" if it's on a 69 Camaro. On a Chevelle or Corvette it's Monaco Orange. On a model that the color wasn't available for that year, and it is Special Ordered, it's "Orange".

yes, he walks around the cars with a flash light, shows the vin plate and tells what the numbers/letters represent on the cars.

He's not always right.

A lot of cars. Thousands of details. If he's wrong 10% of the time, I still think people would learn from what he gets RIGHT. But his error percentage is probably well below 10%.
