easterisland is just a trouble starting, know it all, ass hole Lightning owner that says that the Syclone and Typhoon are not "production" vehicles because "PAS built them, not GM". It funny that you would bring our little discussion over here. I know who this dick head is..Ask Jimmy about him. He needs to get a life. Just take youre little "Lightnings rule and everything else sucks" attitude and go f*** yourself. :fist:

Everybody here that knows me or has met me knows that im a very calm easy to get along with guy so this post may shock you....sorry guys.

FWIW.. The syty vid compulation I have shows Syclone drivelines on the GM assembly lines being built. We're talking complete drivelines here which includes the turbo, upper IC, etc all being dropped into the frame at the same time minus the body.

If PAS had an assembly line as big/long as the one in the vid then they'd still be building cars/trucks as the vid wasnt shot in some warehouse. This is several thousand square feet of space filled with assembly line equipment and UAW workers.

Anyone that says these things rolled off the line as regular 4wd S trucks is beyond being a complete idiot or has to be some teenager that wouldnt know a connecting rod from a cam shaft feable attempt at stirring up an arguement.

I cant believe I wasted 3min of my time typing that /\

If the idea that SyTys weren't an actual "production" vehicle gives you warm fuzzies inside, then believe what you want. I can't fathom why someone would try to use this as an "advantage" for the glorification of their vehicle.

Somebody's really reaching here...

Try to convince a Murci owner that their car is a VW too while you're at it...

I dont have a problem making a copy but I will warn you if you want it that the copy of a copy of a copy I have is pretty bad. I bought the thing off of ebay (its a VHS tape BTW) a LONG time ago and you can tell by the crappy quality that its a 3rd or 4th generation copy.

Anyway, for anyone to say the trucks werent built anywhere but a GM assembly line is mind blowingly retarded to me. PAS did what??...put the cladding on and a few other doo dads? If thats the case then I guess GM didnt build the TTA or GNX either.

I believe the one that Dave is talking about is the Truckin USA episode where they visit the Pontiac West plant in Michigan where the Typhoons were made. They do show every single step (from welding to dyno testing) of the Typhoon taking place at that plant, which is a GM plant.

I remember seeing some old shots of the returned Saudi Syclones being converted back for US standards in another warehouse (or maybe another part of a plant). Not sure where that took place of where the Syclone production took place.

Marty or Brian probably know.

I just asked a simple question. From the responses either no one knows, or no one wants to confirm that GMC didn't own PAS. Thanks.

Why I'm stooping down to answer your question I'll never know (all I've seen you to be is a fire starter), but here goes:

AFAIK, GM never owned PAS. A lot like GM doesn't own SLP or Ford doesn't own Saleen or Chrysler doesn't own Hennessey or.........I could go on. However, who owned what is irrelevant concerning the Syclone/Typhoon. I has been stated, verified, documented, videotaped, etc.....that GM did indeed have a hand in building these trucks. That's all that should matter, but really what does it matter?

Thank You. I knew that GM built the trucks and I was under the impression PAS wasn't owned by GM. I had a confrontation with a sy/ty owner who had a fit when I said GM didn't own PAS. I also noticed under www.fueleconomy.gov the syclone is listed under PAS, inc not GMC. That just clears up any confusion.

What is really funny about that is Jimmy came over yesterday and was showing me some dyno runs of his truck at 15psi (no knock with pump gas) and I got along fine with him. 8) I like all kinds of cars not just Fords. I have a couple of Fords at the moment and a Toyota. A couple of years ago I had all GM products. My Lightning is pretty quick at the moment and I am proud of it. I never said your trucks sucked I just disagree with you when you stated that PAS, inc was owned by GM. I came to the source to find out. I did a search and came up with evidence to support me, but I wanted to be sure. Now I am. I hope you are also.:D

What is the relavance of the question anyways? If it was a non-production truck then it would have PAS and not GMC on the front and back and I would be trying to find my nearest PAS dealership from time to time...

damn Joe, never thought you the kind to get worked up over some Lightning owner

And Myclone I would love to get a hold of the tape, I could host it for everone to download. Seems like good footage to me. Or if anyone could send it to me (I'll pay of course) or give a link.

Roush mustangs are not a Ford product yet they are mustangs. Just not production mustangs. They are listed at www.fueleconomy.gov under roush. Similar to how the syclone and typhoon are listed under PAS, inc.

Too bad Ford voids the warranty on any supercharged Roush! Few years ago thought about getting a F-150 S/C Roush but its gotta be (backed).
