Wideband Install

In the process of installing a new wideband O2 sensor to work with the $58 chips. One question I have is.. Can you leave the sensor in all the time? Will it burn out? I haven't been able to get a definate answer on this. It's a Bosch sensor. Any comments would help. Thanks

I have about 10,000 miles on my LM-1 WB setup.
You need to have power to the sensor when it's in the exhaust stream or the sensor may fail.

Excellent. I was hoping I could leave it in. One more question. With the LC1 I think you can also have one of the outputs act like a stock narrowband output. I was thinking of using the output instead of the factory O2 sensor. That way 1 sensor may be less problems? Any one doing this?

yes..the LC-1 will funtion, by default, like a NB on analog output #1. the stock NB can be completely removed

Re: Wideband Install

it should say in the manual. Get a 3.5 mm lead from MAPLIN or RadioShack and some black cable, then attach that to the black lead from the stock O2 sensor connector (underneath the IC). That goes to the LM -1 (same for the LC -1 but not sure about the audio connector if needed).

And then there's the relay issue!
