Will 18x8.5" +56mm fit a Sy?

I'm looking at getting a set of 18" rims for my Syclone and I was wondering about offsets. I can't figure out if I'm going to have a problem with the back spacers or not. The wheels all around would be 18"x8.5" with a +56mm offset and 245/40R18 tires, which gives exactly the same diameter as the stock tires at 25.7".

According the the guy I was talking to, I would need to install longer wheel bolts before they could be installed because the spacer required is over an inch! Is that true?

I'm so confused! :dunno:

Its diffrent offsets front and rear.
Front: 9mm Spacer
Rear: 37mm spacer

Be aware of innerfender clearance when turning with wider rims.
I tried to use the calculator but I didn't really understand what it was telling me. Based on your info I can see now how it works.

Do you think that a 37mm spacer in the back would require longer wheel bolts?

I'm hoping that since the overall diameter will be the same as the stock whiles/tires and the width is only a .5" larger then stock I won't have any problems with rubbing.

I'd run an adpater not a spacer. Preferably hub-centric like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WHEEL-SPACERS-ADAPTERS-GM-S10-CAMARO-CORVETTE-1-5_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42614QQihZ002QQitemZ120161249588QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

That sounds easier. Do you know how these hold up under launch?

Adapters are the way to go. I have a 1" set on my 400 plus HP Saleen and they did fine. Just remember to check the torque once in a while.

Well that's good to hear. I think I'll go with the hub-centric adapters for the rear, they look like the best solution.

Does anyone know of a good place to get a 10mm spacer for the front? maybe on eBay too?

Get a 3/8" spacer which equals 9.525 mm. You can find them on EBAY as well.
