If it makes you feel any better, my speedo is off ~10mph since the engine and gauge swap.

And my gas gauges has always sucked. If I turn a corner, it almost always drops by 1/4 of a tank and then levels itself back out within a few moments.

BTW, where did you ground your wire at for the new gauges?

I got the white face thingys, the ones that go over the original cluster, I got power from a fuse, not sure from wich one, and ground from the body, same ground I did for the boost gauge light.

kinda gotta power up the unit and then install the needles, i had to guess at some and redo it a couple time to get perfect.

That's pretty much any GM car built before, what seems like, 2010.

Yeah ill just them off, fill the tank up, make sure engine its cold and install the neddle, some were way off anyway, oil psi was always at 3/4 at cold idle, then anything from 10% trottle and the needle hit the 80psi

had a similar issue when i did mine. they fall forward and you can not tell until you remove them and glue them down

I used to note where the needles are at cold startup or when warmed up . Then re-install them at the same conditions . Setting them up at , or close to oem locations is easier that way . Most times the pin spins back slightly when removed .

Re: Will I ever do something right!!!!!!

When installing the gauge faces- Let the truck sit and cool off (so the coolant temp is as cool as it will be). Turn the key on and note the needle positions. Then you can take the gauges out and put the new faces on. After you get the faces on- connect the power back to the panel and turn the key on again. Put the needles back on in the same place as they were. That should get it pretty close. If you were to try and do it witha full tank- then you could make any needed tweaks to the needle to show a more accurate reading.
