Do you guys think a syclone motor would fit in an eagle talon, eclipse or another small lightweight AWD car?

there is no way your going to fit a V6 with that big ass intake in a car which had a horizontally mounted I4. If you could, I would love to see the hood on that fucker.

I know I am a girl and I don't know much about engines, but I do know enough that you don't deserve to own a Typhoon or a Syclone if that is what you are going to do with it. I don't even know the situation so I am sorry if you aren't going to do it, but honestly that is a major put down on the SyTys if you are going to do that!

Good luck! Why would you want to do that anyway? There are so many parts for DSM's that you can make the same power just as easy without having to swap motors. My brother has a 97 AWD Talon that he's almost done with. He's running a Magnus motor(pauter rods, ross pistons), GT series 65 trim garrett, Tial 44m external gate, DN performance SS header, FMA2A, so on. Magnus said with his build, they had one of their cars lay 560hp to the wheels. Yes, with a 2.0 liter. So why spend all the big bucks to put a Sy/Ty motor in a DSM when you can just go buy parts for it and be just as fast.

If you look at their website, you'll see their AWD DSM just ran a 9.53 @ 153 with no juice.

Oh yeah, and an AWD DSM is only a couple hundred pounds lighter than a Sy.

Shoot PAS filled up every amount of space available with our Sy's and Ty's. They leave room for much of anything, my Ty's alarm siren is mounted to the side of the abs bracket cause there was no other place to put it. Take for example having to take out the inner fenders just to work on the motor. Please stop smoking that stuff, it's effecting your brain. JMO

I'm waiting to see the 4.3T Fiero. Apparently though, he doesn't have a digicam.

with the 4 cyl usually being wider than two banks of 3 cyls
and since the intake does'nt hang off the side like a 4 cyl
your three concerns are
1) intake height (which could be changed)
2) oil pan depth (which also could be changed)
3) TORQUE ! when those cars approach the brute torque at a higher RPM of course, they snap stock axles
now imagine have the axel snappping torque off the line......

INMHO too much fabricating, too many mods, too many adapters (that don't exist yet) too much weght, and then after all that work, ya have to tippy-toe when ya launch "and that ain't right"

thats just because you havnt thrown away all the useless shit that they put in there. after you clear out the engine bay, there is a ton of room, and a syty becomes somewhat enjoyable to wrench on.

Sorry Maybe I should have explained myself better.

Hah, yes I know it wont fit. I just wanted to prove to my arrogant younger cousin who thinks he knows everything. He told me a sy motor would fit in an eclipse or talon and that he was gona do it when he got his liscence. Maybe after I show him this he will understand why I told him he was a moron. :D

You are such a crack head.... Go to a local car show or race event and look under the hood of an old monte carlo (early 70s to about 77) and then tell me how much room a syty has under the hood. Better yet find a full sized chevy pickup from the early 70s up to the mid 80s and take a look under the hood. You have room for TWO big blocks in there with room to spare.

I dont give up that easily but I took my fender wells out eons ago cause I was tired of working around them. You took the AC off your truck.. No thanks here as Ive had enough "hot rods" that didnt have AC, power steering, power brakes, etc to learn that a street vehicle is much more enjoyable with those things. If I want a no creature comfort car then it'll be something I wont ever get caught at a long stop light at in the middle of the summer.. I got over sweating like a hooker in church in my street cars a LONG time ago.

Damn Im rambly this AM... I really oughta cut back on the coffee.

Seems like there was a guy around, back on the syty mailing list who had a sy/ty setup in a geotracker. Don't remember who.
