Window motor replacement write up from tyclone.com?

I had this whole write up saved on one of my old computers and has since been lost.

Tyclone.com doesn't even exist anymore, did any of the old school guys happen to save that write up?

I'm at the end of the rope with the driver's side window going up 1" every 5 minutes haha. I remember drilling out the rivets and drilling a 1/4" hole through the regulator and holding it in place with a bolt while swapping the motor out... but I was hoping to go over the procedure as a quick refresher since I haven't done this in 12+ years.

I'm sure there's something on youtube, but i remember this being a good/thorough "how to".

Yeah, I considered that... but why waste $75 on a regulator if you don't need one? The only difference is that you might save 10 minutes of your time and $1 on a 1/4" nut n bolt. The rest of the R&R is exactly the same.

I replaced both motors in my syclone, and 1 in my old blazer... not once was the regulator bad.

I heard that it's not the motor. The window fit is too tight. Mine is slow and has been probably since I bought it. Haven't attempted to fix it though.

I'm sure a tight fitting window would probably wear out a motor a little faster and cause it to go slower... but I've never changed anything other than the motor, and afterwords it worked like a champ!

I haven't come across a motor that's any faster than stock though. 2 of the non-delco motors I bought were actually slower and louder... but a slower motor could actually be a result of Don's assessment that the window is too tight. I dunno if I'd wanna mess with that though... I'll take a slower window motor over wind noise or the window rattling. Ty's have enough obnoxious noises already, no need to add to it haha.

If I had video editing software or an app err whatever, I'd just make a how-to video... but it would probably be more work than the actual R&R for me to edit out all the F-bombs and beer breaks. :drinking:
