why in the heck don't they put the lines somewhere else, like out and along side of the tank rather than above.. and i guess the snap release connections weren't invented in 1992.

damn.

i guess i am lucky my fittings weren't froze up at least.

also did you know that the outside of two walbros is like the same size as the hole in the tank? tight fit.. I had to remove the float and drop it into the tank a couple times before i got it hung correctly.

anyways i didnt see an immense amount of info on here about this mod DIY. so if anyone has any q's i can answer... i also have a couple pics i'll upload.

ATR Actually made these in house @ there shop. I have one in my truck and when i went to get it they were all out and wasn't remaking them at that time so i ended up finding one brand new through McCoy Motorsports.

Not too many floating around.

i have the pics off of the camera finally, ill get it here shortly.

parts
-one home depot 3/8 npt female to (3) 1/4npt female manifold $6
-one foot of 5/16 fuel injection hose $3
-two 1/4npt male to 5/16 barb fittings $3
-one 3/8 npt female to 3/8 barb $2
-some random power wires $ free
-30A 12v relay $5
-solder and soldering iron, heat shrink $free
-teflon tape $free
-one (or two if you have stock pump) walbro gss340 $90 each
-pack of 5/16 fuel injection clamps (not screw clamps, smooth clamps) $5

so if you bought two brand new pumps the total investment is $184 or so... i had most of the above laying around so all i really bought was one more pump.

there is some massaging of the factory sender to do.. nothing a drill bit and a cut off wheel can't handle in a couple seconds.

by far the hardest part is putting it back in!

ya, i just got my tank out of my ty last night, fittings were locked up, screwed up the hoses that are between the sender unit and the hard lines along the frame :bad-word:

so i was just thinking about replacing the line all the way up to the fuel filter with a flexible line, and do the same with the return line(to wherever the first connection is along the frame) that way you can unhook them there to allow the tank to lower alot easier...

has anyone doen anything similar to this?

Yes, give this forum a good Search and you will find many posts with all the correct fittings. Don't overlook the post mentioning the cheap $15 fittings at Summit to go from -6 AN to the GM "Saginaw" metric.

I believe someone even drew a diagram in the past.

With some searching , nolan's thread with how he wired both pumps up can be found from years ago . I know I saved the pics , I'll have to look .

Re: wow typhoon twin fuel pumps; tank removal

one of my pumps is running off the factory wiring, the second newer one i ran dedicated 12 ga wire straight to the battery (rear mounted)

my second pump is triggered by my bs3 box vs tps threshhold %

i do not want to run both all the time, no reason to... only reasons not to.
