so I have a very reputable local guy rebuild the trans in my truck. he's done 700r4's in several of my friends and relatives hotrods, racecars, and bad A street cars. I leave the truck with him for 2 weeks and when he finaly calls I go the next day to get it and it won't start. I look and the once half tank is on E. ok he test drove it a couple (hundred) times no biggy he wanted to break it in, he's very reputable. put gas in start driving home and is bogging terrible off the line? maybe he messed with timing or something? get home its pouring water from the rear of the block/head maybe intake. call the guy at the trans shop, he says he took it home the night before and brought it back in the morning because the were other cars in the bays and he wanted to make sure my truck stayed inside. then says nothing happened to or from home. also mentions the intake bolts were loose and he tightened them up so it may need new intake gaskets. he offered to put them on whatever. I put them on myself instead and low and behold problem not solved. leaking profusely. now what the hell? I'll call tommorrow and see whats up for sure.

Sorry to hear that man! Hopefully he didn't crack the manifold or a water jacket

Check the BBB for similar issues with him. Also check with your state Attorney General. They are charged with keeping up with problems and scams.

If you paid with a credit card, you can call the card company and tell them you have a dispute with this guy and not to pay until the dispute is resolved.

May have been another guy in the shop that ‘tested’ the truck and the owner doesn’t know anything about it. However, he is responsible.

Hope all turns out well.

I bet when he tightened the intake bolts he cracked the intake where the water jacket is.
