X-cab Sy

Re: X-cab Sy

Well...Got back from the hospital this afternoon. Slipped on ice at work and broke my ankle. Have plates and screws holding me together now. Guess I'm out for at least 2 months. Just get to watch parts ordered come in. Ironically a day after this happens, I get a email telling me the supercharger thats been backordered for 7 months was just shipped out.
What my view will be for the next couple of months. And with the meds I'm on, it's about that clear also.

Bummer on the ankle. I've been there many times just ask
my wife. Give it two weeks and you will be back out in the
Garage

As long as work doesn't know. I've been told that hard cast next week and no weight on the leg for 6-8 weeks. Work injury. Already going nuts sitting-eating-sleeping in the recliner. Elevated & iced. Taking pain or muscle pills every 2 hours. Not fun.:(

That sucks about the ankle, best to let it heal properly rather than have constant and recurring issues. I wish you a speedy recovery, and hopefully cabin fever doesn't set in too quick.

Truck looks absolutely flawless by the way  damn good job! Out of curiosity, any thought on actually making it AWD down the road?

Thats a completely different frame, correct?
If I really get bored, but I should finish the Teal GT before I tackle anything else major on this one. I haven't had this one on the road for over three years now. It is probably getting 'cabin fever':rotf:

Thanks for the support.

Since I'm out for a good while, might as well post up the pics from the last thing I did to her a week ago. Applied two of the three SoGT decals.

Only happened less than a week ago, but already looking forward to being done with this injury, so I can finish this build & drive it this summer.

Re: X-cab Sy

Well, sitting on my patooty is driving me nuts. Only partial weight on the bad ankle. Working on balance & flexability. Start PT next week. Over the past week been doing a little tinkering on the intake. Decided that I didn't like the way the BOV sat (some silicone was used), and that a plate for a CNC'd logo would be nice. So I made a face for the BOV. Now it's off to the welder, then find a CNC shop. Maybe have it say '4.3 HIGH OUTPUT' above, and 'SUPERCHARGED' below that. Or something like that.

Got the intake back from the welders. Spent the day filing & sanding the welds. A productive day with my foot elevated. :D

Now, sandblast some texture & off to machine the logo.

Re: X-cab Sy

I love this truck! I was going to build a similar version back in 92 after I bought my 1st SGT, only not with sy clading. I was going to go the easy route and use SGT rocker clading, Your truck looks awesome! GREAT job!
