Hey guys....I've been doing alot of maint/tune-up & minor upgrades this summer ( http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=59897 ) & one of the upgrades is the 2600 yank tc im putting in w/ the new trans...& basically i've been having some problems w/ the install...The pilot shaft on the tc seems too long compared to my stock tc...Everytime i try installing the trans, it wont fully seat up against the block....any suggestions would help alot...thanks

Re: Yank tc install Q

are you totally sure its seated all the way. sometimes you have to spin it and push and pull and wiggle it for a long time to get it to fully seat. it can be a pain.

Yup ive done all of that....After i did all that, i tried to just mount the tc to the fly to see if the pilot will seat....and no cigar....i'll post pics in a lil bit of the the yank and the stocky tc to show where i think the problem is.

I remeber I did this to a ford tranny once I was pissed I broke the pump by trying to slam the converter in there. Be careful it can get expencive quick. Is the input shaft in all the way?

Heres a pic Mike Cambell posts all the time and its a big help, the mounting pads on the tc should measure 1in inward from the bellhousing of the trans.
