Meh, whatever. Anytime somebody says some stupid 'fact' about a Syclone or Typhoon, I just laugh. Apparently while I was at one car-show, some kid went past and said to his friend "Hey cool, those have the Camaro engine in them" I just laugh and shake my head, cause really when it comes down to it, I prefer when people dont know what it is. It just makes it that much better to me.

It doesn't bother me, no one here ever knows what this thing is. I actually have fun on occasion when someone does know

I know that feeling. Most people have no clue what it is but on the occasion where you run into someone that does they almost always give either a thumbs up or some other gesture of respect.
I was on my way to the Global Import and Domestic Car Show yesterday at the Tacoma dome and two guys in a WRX Subie were passing me when they noticed they were passing a Ty. They immediately hit the brakes to give me the thumbs up. I saw them again in the parking lot of the car show and they circled back around to get another look at the Ty. My Ty isn't even nice, but they still were clearly shocked to see one.

I notice 1 out of 100 "car people" even know what a Sy is, but when I DO FIND SOMEONE....they go nuts. Thats a good feeling

Ah, I have fun with it when I can, like the ricer boys that wanted to run because the "Blazer has a GN engine which is ok but can't hook from a dig"? Ok, what ever I say. Then they make me feel real good and OFFER ME 2 cars :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

I have learned since I have been an owner since 98, that I just go along with their story.
Stupid Public "Those have GN engines right?"
Me "Well that one doesn't, but I have another one at home that does, and my buddy even has one with a corvette engine." Or I just make up some random crap that goes along with what they believe is true about them, leave them confused.

Heh, reminds me of an experience that a had a few years ago getting off the turnpike on my way to a friend's house. The toll collector was a guy in his early twenties and he got REALLY excited when I pulled up to pay my toll. He said "OH my god, I don't wanna sound like a groupie or anything but I LOVE these trucks! I have never ever seen one in person other than in magazines and now there's one here right in front of my booth!" I told him that I was on my way to a wrenching session and that there would probably be about half a dozen there. He said "You gotta launch this thing for me when ya leave!" I told him I would do the best I could considering that I had 400 pounds of tools in my bed. I don't think that he was disappointed.

I guess I'm that 1 in 100th guys who know what a sy/ty/sogt is, though I havent seen one in the sheetmetal ever. But I prowl the streets, eyes peeled for that one day that one may pop up and make me happy.

I usually just watch as people gather around my truck and talk, look under it, inside it, call friends. Sometimes I will just walk up and be like wow, this things cool, what are we looking at.
