Your last drive?

V8 Sonoma GT

How long since the last drive in your truck?

Im just curious if its been as long for anybody else. (speaking of my GT of course)

And that parts truck you bought does not count.

Your actual pride and joy- How long?

Re: Your last drive?

Every day, not that far though, I only live 5 miles from my work.

I love it, every second.

Re: Your last drive?

It was March or April of 2005. Still remember the drive. Drove it down to my dads to start tearing it apart. It was a Saturday, and I had to work. Got off at 1pm, and headed down there. I distinctly remember that drive. Probably because of the hillbilly in an F150 that wouldn't let me merge onto the interstate. There was nobody in the lane next to him, but he decided not to move over. No big deal, I slowed down and got behind him. As I was going around him, he for some reason decided he'd hang out the window and flip me off and yell something I coudln't understand between his 2 teeth. Don't know what pissed him off, I didn't ride his ass or do anything wrong. Either way, he quickly saw taillights and was never seen again.

12 hours ago when I went to pick up a pizza with my kid.

I blasted across a large vacant parking lot. Fun.

I'll stay in love with this truck as long as its running AND I don't look at the 20 spots of oil on the cardboard.

Re: Your last drive?

Last time I drove mine was Nov/Dec 2005 or 2006, I forget which. It was to one of the NASTE Hooter's meets, my inspection had expired 5 months earlier, it was 2WD running on regular gas. Can't really say I miss driving it based on that drive, but I do miss it once and a while.

Mine is in running condition, but unfortunately I don't drive it that much. I drive my crew cab S10 everyday to work, or where ever. My Ty and my longbed mostly just sit. I move them a couple times a month, maybe.

Re: Your last drive?

1456 was February '09, either really late on the 15th or early on the 16th. http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=66391

0187 was March 30 (two weeks ago). I agreed to have the semi drop it off at a truck stop a few miles from here, and drove it home from there. I've had stupid complications since then. http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=94709

Once I have the finishing touches on 0187, I plan to drive it fairly regularly. I've only got a 9.5 mile commute, about 7 of which is a straight stretch of 55mph country road. On semi-nice days, when I don't want to ride the Ninja, the Sy will be my second choice. First choice some days. =)

Re: Your last drive?

Last time for me was March 30. A 15 minute drive around the storage facility at less than 15 MPH.

Re: Your last drive?

As an engineer in construction I sometimes have to go see architects, etc. yesterday, I had to meet with an architect unplanned. It was around lunchtime so we figured we would discuss over lunch. I had the sgt. I told him I would drive (I knew he was a car guy) thought he would want to see what I brought (he owns 67 Camaro, 97 ss Camaro, 65 Vette and 09 Vette plus dd's a tbss). He was impressed.
He laughed and enjoyed the ride.

Re: Your last drive?

I test drove mine about 2 months ago to try out the drag radials and other than from the shop to the carport that's about it. I was smiling really big when I did a boost launch with 4 drag radials tho. I did trailer it about 1.5 hrs away to a drag strip to get there and they not open due to cool weather. They told me they decided not to open since everyone would have issues hooking. I laughed and said but I won't, they still wouldn't let me make a pass.

Re: Your last drive?

Last week(Friday). There is an Amish / Menonite furniture store that we have purchased from that semi-annually has an open house sale. They sell, besides the furniture, pastries, baked goods, homemade chips yada-yada. Anyway, I was off last Friday and took the Typhoon over to get some baked goods to take camping, and a complete chicken lunch for $5. Pulled in the parking lot and was directed to a spot right in front of their store. Got out of the truck and a younger looking guy with the hat and suspenders says "You don't see many of those anymore." I was speechless for a moment. Who would have thought a 25-30 year old Amish / Menonite guy would know what a Typhoon is? So, in an effort to keep my chicken lunch warm, I opened her up on 33 for a few miles. Back in the garage on the battery tender...Jim,

Re: Your last drive?

About two weeks ago down the block since the new engine install. Last real drive was when I brought it home during my midtour leave in May of 2012. I drove it all the way from Chicago with a shot engine. haha. Oh well, I own a Typhoon....one of these days I'll get to drive it too.

Re: Your last drive?

Last Sunday. I take it out for a drive at least once a week, depending on the weather. Each time is like taking it out for the first time all over again.
