Z06 rims

I know Z06 has been talked about to death, but I am having trouble finding a reasonable set of Z06 rims for sale that aren't chrome. I would prefer just the rims so I can go drag radials, and 17" cause 18" DR's are way to expensive to justify. Now I did find a set of 17" Z06 with tires for $999.

17" Z06 silver rims/tires

But then again I have seen the AFS 18" polished rims/tires go for around the same price on ebay auctions. Not necessarily wanting a shiny rim on the Sy though.

After my build is said and done I plan on being a pretty solid mid 11's truck on pump gas. I am still undecided if those numbers really require the DR's or not. I'm starting to think not.

ok, update. just got off the phone with the guy who is selling the the silver 17" and he is now offering me a set of 17" silver z06 and 4 nitto DR's mounted and balance shipped to my door for $1400. Sounds good to me, but haven't viewed all the numbers yet.

Now the question of money, in you's guy's professional opinions. Do you think it would be worth the extra money for the DR's? Or should running on the Z rated tires that come with the set be good enough for the times I am shooting for? And do you think that silver Z06 will look good on our trucks?

Can maybe someone with photoshoppe skills photoshoppe the rims from my link onto a Sy so we can see? i would but I don't have photoshoppe

All opinions/advice welcome TIA

EDIT: Just an after thought but maybe if several people were interested we could try a group purchase?

I believe one of my friends can order 17" gunmetal Z06 wheels from his work, I'm almost 100% sure. But I'll down by there today, so I'll stop and check, than post what I find out.

However, I know they're silver, but $999 wheels and tires is cheap.

Jim Longwith 0-60N4 is a reseller for OE Concepts wheels who offer ZO6 in 17s 18s silver or chrome.
Thats who I got mine from.

I dont think you can get the tires with them though.

$999 for wheels and tires is a deal, I'd go for that.

You aren't gonna find them any cheaper even for a GP price.

just a kick in the ass.. but on that auction, the "satisfied customer's" car should be pissed as it looks like someone has pasted large pictures of wheels over his existing wheels.

And I don't remember Pam selling wheels/tires?

-certainly doesn't do much for a person's integrity

As they say, buyer beware

The ZO6 wheels I sell from OEC are top quality and come in either chrome or the factory look gun metal gray. I think Brian Green has a pic of the set he bought from me on his Sy. They look sweet. They do require adaptors (spacers) for the rear.

Someday I am going to buy 2 more 17x9.5's and have them widened to 11's.
Someday.......

That sounds like a good deal to me. can you get me more details on that i am still comtemplating zr1's or z06s i am starting to like the gunmetal z06's but have always loved the zr1's
Are the zo6's with dr gunmetal or silver, is there a difference?
don't they make the zo6's wider than 9.5" i want that steam roller look of the 315's

they are silver, not gunmetal. they do come in 10.5, but only in 18's. But all this guy has is 17" silver. I have spent the past several days researching the seller of the rims and everything seems legit. researched the rims and tires and they are good quality. seller has nothing but positive responses, and seems like a really nice guy. talked with him for a while.

Ted just call he number on the link and ask for Billy, he said he would have to get the DR's shipped to him but he would do it for me. Seems like a good deal. The marshal tires are associated with Kumho tires, think they are a European company. They deal a lot in specialty tires, motor homes, big turcks, etc.

Still haven't decided if I am getting them or not. the truck fund is pretty low and I haven't even gotten it all put together  May just have to wait on any rim purchase.

And do remember Ted that with the steamroller look you will lose a little off you 60' times probably. Or that is the general consensus anyhow. I've got my truck to run mid 13's at the track and the best 60' I got was a 1.82, naturally I need more track time but I think you get the idea. I was hoping that going from the 8" to 9.5" would help with traction but not be enough width to actually hinder performance.

Also if you did get the ebay wheels/tires, they are almost and inch shorter than the zr1's and should give you slightly better times. this is all by numbers not by experience grant you. I couldn't get anyone to post if their times improved/decreased with ZO6 rims.

I will be having a special through October which will include free shipping. For the 17 x 9.5 ZO6 in Gunmetal gray, that's $900.00 delivered to your door. These come with a lifetime warranty on the structural from OEC.

Jim,

I heard the aftermarket wheels are heavier than their OEM counterparts.

Are any of the ZO6 replica wheels forged like the '01 OEM Z06 wheels and around 19 lbs for the 17x9.5's?

I've heard they are considerably heavier.
