I haven't been on the board in a while, been to busy working and finally finishing up one of my projects. I know many of you guys are like me and into more than just SyTys so I though I would through a few pics of my Camaro project up. Should be firing it up next week and hopefully sending it to paint in March.

Re: '68 Camaro

Probably should have put these in as some of the first pics, but anyway. The engine & tranny are now in.

Is it a original OEM cowl induction for 67-68 set up?

Re: '68 Camaro

Lloyd (Sy2455),

Glad you recognized that setup, not many people even know that there was a "Cold Air Induction" option in '67-'68 before the advent of the cowl hood. It is not an OEM though, we simply replicated that setup after sorting through as many old photos as we could get our hands on.

Jeremy - nice to see you are still kick'n. The $20 spot is in the mail.

Re: '68 Camaro

Is that header primary running on the outside of the frame? If so does it have like a v-band attachment on the bottom side for easy removal?

That car is going to be so damned sweet when its done. If I ever strike it rich.....

Re: '68 Camaro

Master Blaster - that header tube is on the outside of the frame. It is the same on both sides so that the tubes are truly equal lenth. That tube bolts independantly from the rest to both the head and the collector, so yes it is easily removable.

Warm Pancakes - neither. SEM makes tintable spray-on bedliner (comperable to Line-x or Rhino) and that is what we used.

Nice...my dad has a 68 and is building a 415 Dart block right now with AFR's and the goodies. The car is beautiful and they are a great valued car.

Re: '68 Camaro

Here are some more recent pics as the project moves along. All the wiring is now done, brakes work and fuel system is complete. Should be finishing the body over the next week or so, then the new top goes on and it is off to paint.

Wow that is just awesome, it makes all the work I did last summer undercoating the Sy and painting seem worthless now.
