'92 vs. '93 seats

I just bought a '93 Typhoon (my first ) and while I was looking I noticed that the '93 has all leather buckets while the '92 was a leather front on it's bucket but it is embroidered with Typhoon. Which seat is better? I like the looks of the '92? What was the reason for switching? Which seat is better?

Welcome, we can tell your new which is a good thing.

All personal preference. 93 is power, 92 is not. 93=Fatboy (common term) 92 is more of a bucket seat you sit in not on.

All really depends.

Personally I like the 92's for agressive driving, 93's for long distance. Guess that is why i have both sets of seats for my ty.

As far as "reason for switching" it most likely came down to MONEY. Everything GMC did with this truck, they did so with money in mind...especially for 1993. Your question was verly likely asked in this thread:

Personally I'm glad they switched seats 'cause it differentiates the trucks and is one of the few noticable differences.

i dont know how does 300 plus shipping for the fronts and 150 plus shipping for the rear or 400 plus shipping for them all sounds? too much not enough?

has anyone ever tryed to get there seats reapulstered? how did they turn out? how did the "typhoon" embroider turn out? 300 doesnt seem to bad, although shipping to vegas would probably kill me.

let me know if you are interested i will take them to the ups store tomorrow and see what they say. if you dont need the seat tracks i may be able to just wrap them in plastic and they would not weight nearly as much and would save a lot

I like the '92s better since they do hold you more, but they are still a plush leather seat so don't expect to corner at 1.2g's without some effort on your part to stay put.

93 typhoon seats rule because they are power. But I like the net pouch on the front of the 92's.

I was looking for something in better condition then mine. yours are about the same condition as mine.
