barely moves

okay , been having problems with the governor( not shifting at the proper speeds) pulled it out and cleaned it. was better for a while. now truck has to be reved up alot for it to move. then it is fine until come to a stop. then same thing stand on the gas to get it to move. possible governor or something else. thank you.

Filter? Just read this again, sounds like your clutches are toast.

I have the same problem with my Ty. I have to let it run and get warm before it will move. If not, I have to really stand on the gas to get it to budge. It is also leaking fluid around the front seal when at idle and trying to move. I'm pulling mine and having it rebuilt this spring. It's got 146k on it anway so why not.

Trans is shot. At the very least the one way clutch in the converter is fubar. If it spins both ways it will act like that.

Man oh man, it seems like a lot of us need a good answer to this tranny thing. Mine is on its way out too. I dropped the pan and found a lot of fine metal shavings plus a few little strips of metal about a qaurter inch width by 3 quarter inch in length on the magnets. That cant be good, so its time for a build for me too. Whats the cost in parts for doing it ourselves minus the cost of speacial tools?

80e. Been answered. Either that or drive them like a true daily driver.

I had the same problem with mine, felt like i was pulling a house. turned out my timing was jumping around and it was my distributor.
