Battery in bed

I am in the process of redoing my in bed battery set up. I have a new aluminum box and want to mount it behind the pass side wheel well. I would like to run the cables through the inner bedside, then down the bed to the frame. The issue is there is going to be 2-3 inches of exposed cable. Should I worry about this? I plan on grommeting all places the wire goes through metal and secure the wire so it shouldn't move.

Re: Battery in bed

Grommets, and your fine. Idea of sealed box is for the battery itself.

I suspect under the truck the cable will be somewhat exposed also.

Stab it and steer it
Re: Battery in bed

Grommets and convoluted tubing are your friends. Secure the cable often. Are you gonna race? If so bat disconnect at rear is required.

Re: Battery in bed

A good truck bed accessories would have been a good key here in order to put up the battery in the bed of your truck. In this way, you would be able to really make things work out on your vehicle's accessories or parts to be installed as good or as efficient as it should be.
