Belltech Rear swaybar-UPDATED with pics

Syclone Rob

Its all ABOOT the SYTY eh
Hello all, I am in the process of installing the belltech rear sway bar. I have followed the instructions to the point on where you have to drill holes to mount the end links. The problem I am running into is that the driver side endlink would end up where the crossmember/gas tank strap is. It doesn't seem like the right place to drill ahole. If anyone that has the belltech (or ST) rear bar, can you please take some pics, post it here or email me? I want to see where you drilled the holes for the endlinks. BTW, I do have the belltech lowering springs on the Syclone.

Thanks,
Rob

Hey Rich. Do you have a part# for the sway bar and is it the same for the SY and TY? Thanks.

Sy and Ty's don't have the same number, the vendors have them you might find it there.

5520 82-93 rear sway bar s-series.

Friday I will be working on the truck.. I will try to get some pics to post up to see the problem I am running into. But in the mean time, if anyone can take some pics of their belltech swaybar setup would be much appreciated.

Re: Belltech Rear swaybar-need help!!!

On mine, I first tried the holes that are already in the frame like everyone on here seems to do, the sway bar was made to use those original holes I think. At that location though the bottom of the end links would hit the top of the leaf springs when driving around, and yes I flipped the end links so I only had one bushing under the bracket but they still hit. So I then drilled my own holes above and little farther back from the original holes. I don't have many miles on the Ty with the end links at that spot but it seems to be working pretty good (did the install just before I parked it for winter). If you really need pics let me know and I can take some, but I'll have to figure out how to post them.

Mine took alittle thinking when I threw it on. I have blocks on the back of mine, so maybe that's why mine don't hit my springs, I don't know. But yeah, I used the exsisting holes in the frame. I remember that they sent me the wrong instructions for a longer end link. Once I got the right instructions sent to me, it made it easier. As for the tank strap. I simply cut off what I needed to expose the hole. And bam! My truck is now slightly less swayful!
