Brakes pedal dosen't stay down when I try launching?

Hey guys, I've been having some issues with my typhoon. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. About a week ago I had a almost new set of aluminum drums(20xxx miles on them) put on with a brand new set of shoes. I gave the set up almost a week to break in and settle. Then last night I decided that it was about time to get a few boosted launches in and see how she did. I went about staging it as I always have, I put her in neutral and reved it until I got a really good bite down with the brakes, put her into drive and would start trying to build boost, but around 2lbs on the vaccum side the brake pedal starts to rise back up even with all of my weight on the pedal and by 2 or 3 lbs of boost it was creeping forward quite bad. I was really looking forward to getting this issue taken care of so that I could take her to the track for the first time ever, and I've had my ty for almost 4 years. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

the first thing I would check is to see if your shoes are adjusted properly, if they are "loose" adjust them up (the star wheel) they should just start to drag slighly. the next thing you could try would be getting the bigger wheel cylinders (search) not sure of part #'s....Also make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks going to the vacuum power booster.....hope that helps.

Actually, sounds like a bad booster check valve to me.

Hey thanks! Sorry if these questions sound silly, I'm not that mechanically advanced. Where is the check valve at exactly? The only thing that I know how to track back from the booster is the booster cable itself.

Great! Thanks I did not know that, actually I recently put on the braided brake booster hose from RPM (about a month ago), I'm not sure if it does have a check valve or not? It has a big polished round peice on the end where it goes into the booster and it looks a lot like the old check valve did, with the exception of being polished? I hadn't tried to do any boosted launches since I put the braided one on untill I got the new drums and shoes on in the rear. Could the new one be the culprate? I'll put the old one back on and try it tonight and let you guys know what I find out. Thanks a lot!
