Re: does ATR still sell there chip?

right now i think im making too much boost for the stock chip. my truck has an open element filter and exhaust. i have an autometer boost gauge and it says im hitting 16psi of boost. im going to order a afpr and a boost controller. thats all im doing to this truck till the 454ss is back on the road. i dont plan on running anymore than 16psi.
thanks nick

The ATR is still 2-bar (like all the "big name" aftermarket chips), and thus can't see any more than 14.7psi. The ATR is tuned to be a bit rich, so that the extra air from higher boost has some extra fuel to compensate. But it still has no clue if you're at 14.8psi or 20psi (everything above 14.7psi looks the same to the sensor). The ATR also uses open loop boost control. It tells the wastegate to go to a certain percentage, and that's it. It doesn't raise or lower boost to try to hit a target that the chip is requesting, it just goes to __% and stays there. You tweak your wastegate arm to get __% to match up with __psi.

http://www.atrperformance.com/product_info.php?products_id=92 is the chip on their site. I didn't actually try to buy one, but it looks like it's working...
