Lefty loosey, righty tighty?

Yes if you are on the front side of the filter or bolt or whatever you are taking off AND it isn't reversed threaded. In this case it's lefty tighty when you are looking down on the filter housing, if you were looking from the bottom it would be righty tighty. :rotf:

Exactly. I have taken the filters off of 10+ different cars over the years and this is the first one I have had that wasnt attached to the ENGINE!!! Freaked me out...so I figured they may have designed it to be lefty loosey from the top view....since you arent working on it from the bottom...my bad, hehe ---

Re: First Oil Change in SY ---

dip your finger or a bit of rag in some clean oil then run it round the rubber seal on the new filter. this should stop the rubber "gripping" next time you take the filter off

Don't forget to taste the oil to make sure it's good oil.
