The guy said its not a 100% show car but its clean and runs with everything working.
My Ty has 150k on it with a New built motor/Trans/60-1 Turbo and runs 12s but it needs paint and probly a set of tires.

Should i do it? I could always get the car here and sell it for more then what i was asking for the Typhoon if its as clean as the pics show it is.

Re: Got an offer for trade

I would have someone local go check it out and drive it, take their own pics etc.

I would never buy a car by pics and the owners word alone.

I'd say NO!!!! but then I see you're trying to sell the Ty anyway, so begone with you, make the trade. lol

It's really up to you and what you want to do. The way gas prices are, a 64 Impala is going to guzzle the gas no matter how you drive it (if that's a concern for you). A Typhoon is a bit more unique, but the 64 is a classic. Really there's pros and cons to either which way.

Re: Got an offer for trade

The whole deal with me trading for the 64 is that here in Fayetteville NC it would sell in a heart beat, And i could get the money that i originally wanted for the Ty, The Pics that i posted arent all of them i have alot more and it looks real good.

If you are dead set on ridding yourself of the typhoon, and you can get what you want out of the deal, then by all means trade then turn around the impala...

I was gonna say the same thing. It's gonna be a lot easier to sell the Impala than it will be to get rid of the Ty for what your asking. Those classic muscle cars will always sell.

If it was an original 409 car, I'd say go for it.

I would get some pics of the vin plates and such from him... verify that it is what he says it is. Otherwise, it's just a garden variety impala.

A restored 64 ss 4-spd is worth serious coin... you'll be able to find somebody who wants to buy it, if it's real.

I wouldn't move so quick on this....if the frame is rotted out, you get schnookered. Anybody can bondo fill an old car and make it look decent and trust me, this guy knows what kind of coin one of these will bring. Have you given thought to the fact that if it was worth a good bit, he would sell it, pocket the profit and buy your Ty outright. Something isn't smelling too good here........

Well im bringing a Magnent and its going to be fully gone through befor i do anything, But its a 4hr drive to see it and around this area even if this car isnt as good as he says it is, It will still pull good coin considering everyone here throws big wheels and wants a bling bling ride, If it looks good then it should bring decent money. Trust me ive been thinking alot about all of this.

Ah, the memories!!!! Those things are as big as yachts, definitely not a rally car. Plenty of back seat room for making out at the drive in movie. A friend of mine had a 327, 4 bbl, 4 spd and could burn the tires off all day long. Where did I put that time machine?

I worked with a retired SGM friend at the USPS and his grand-dad left him a 59 T-Bird 2 door coupe. Aside from being seafoam green and white, it is a gorgeous looking car BUT the frame is rotted in 1/2 on the left rear side with other crepitus underneath. He asked for a value on the car and was informed $2,700. From the outside, his car is VERY nice. Thus my advice to you. All the best on your adventure though as sometimes people hit gold :).

Re: Got an offer for trade

What a Piece of Shit this car was, There was about a tone of bondo, The frame that i was told was solid was rusted in half in 2 places, The floor pans were rotted out, and just metal thrown over them with new carpet, I told the guy flat out there was no way and i was going to pass, But even thoe i wasted a 9hr trip round trip, It was nice to just take the Ty out for a cruise, But i had 2 problems on the trip, A Semi blew a tire and a pice of it smashed out my Head light ( No Body Damage at all) Then i stoped to get some food and went back out and the flipping thing wouldnt start for the life of me, Found out that the fuel pump relay just took a shit, So i swaped it out with the A/C relay to get me by. Then on the way home i got a phone call about the truck and its now being sold to a New Member on here, Ill let him tell ya when he wants, But it is sold im just waiting on the money.

I have loved this truck and have had alot of fun in it, But life happens and i need to free up some money, So maybe some time down the road ill get another, Ill still be on the board thoe.
