Hi, I am wanting to wrap my upper intercooler with the turbo blanket material i have. What do i use to make it stick to the intercooler? Is there some sort of glue i should use?

Thanks,

Keith

Go to the local auto store & look for some high temp adhesive.

High temp silicone will probably work well, but the cure time is gonna be a bitch.
You'll have to maybe do one side at a time & set something heavy on the side your working with once everything's in place. Then let it sit overnight. Repeat.

The cleanest way is to remove your upper ic and take it along with a large sheet of DEI heat shield material w/o adhesive backing to your local auto upholstery shop and have them custom make a cover. Tell them to use high temp thread and have it made so it wraps around the IC and fastens with velcro sewn into the cover. This is the way I did mine.

ivanko barbell: sounds like a nice idea. but i got bored today and used metal tape on the sides to hold the heat shield material on. it turned out very well. i would like to see some pictures of how yours turned out.

poke around in the classifieds section and you can see how I did mine, look for my post about the 93 green ty for sale. I used a "starter shield heat wrap" kit, and it's stayed on and fit like a glove for about three years now. I just cut out sections for the neck and such, and then used the metal ties to hold it on. Works great.

3M spray trim adhesive.
nastiest shit u'll ever find in a can.
mine's been on since purchse almost no probs.
i also used thermotec starter heat shield and the metal zips.
