Yeah all over forums dying because of stupid Facebook.
Facebook get in your computer without you known it. When I surf eBay and bam Facebook knew what I was looking at eBay. So I’m not in Facebook anymore. They are creepy and democrats supporter.
Many people should quit facebook like I did & feel so great since month or so.

But yeah this place had a good run... Mid-2000's was kind of it's prime. Then there was a bunch of arguing in threads which turned into locked threads, personal disputes outside of the forum, "L35-gate", doghouse scammers, the Rockford Racecraft debacle, banned members, members deleting their posts, the porn thread, and the "ASSvatars" haha. I remember if I was out of town for a weekend there'd be like 4 pages of posts I missed haha. Now it's maybe 1 or 2 posts a week. I'll still come here or the ISTR forum, before going to the shitshow FB page. Can't even watch a video on there, cause it's 2018 and people still shoot video holding the phone vertically... I just don't understand that. EVERYTHING is widescreen now, you'd think people would make the connection.

Oh yeah! I didn't get in on the Mike King thing, so I totally forgot about that one. I remember Bubba, everyone changing their avatars to bash him hahaha.
I never got into any beefs with anyone on here. Probably cause I'm the first to admit I don't know my asshole from my elbow when it comes to working on cars hahaha. But I will say, almost all of what I know now (which still isn't much) is largely because of this site, and some good folks offering up their knowledge to help everyone out.
These trucks have been the bane of my very existence since I got my Syclone in 2001, that truck was bad luck, so I figured it would all be different when I got my Typhoon in 06, nope... this thing is even worse! haha. But for some stupid reason... no matter how much money and time I've pissed away on these things, or when my ignition cylinder locks up and I have to get towed home... as I'm watching it get pulled up the flat bed, I still look at it and think... "damn this thing is bad ass" hahahaha. I dunno there's just something about em. I know this thing is the biggest piece of shit, money pit I've ever owned, but I can't bring myself to get rid of it. I'm sure someday I will... if I don't douse it in gasoline and light it on fire first.
Agreed on meeting some good peeps on here. Been a lot of people come and go since I joined, even just in SoCal... Bdubb, and George aka ManitouFS were the first guys I ever met in person... they drove out about 40min to the shop my truck was at and helped me swap my fuel pump and dial it in with datamaster. I remember Brian had a pink mullet hahaha. I'll never forget that. Ray Moore (RIP)... I wouldn't even be able to "legally" drive my Typhoon in CA if not for him. I think Paul, Scott, and Mike Lee might be the only OG SyTy'ers left in SoCal that I've met. I never met Sean Morris or DaveP. Everyone else from the early 2000's either sold off, or they don't post anymore. It's real easy to get frustrated and lose interest when these things break.

Its been a while! Just checking in. Looks like most of the good ol' guys have checked OUT! My Ty has been in the garage. Runs but badly needs an engine rebuild so hopefully I can find someone to do it in the near future.

The Mike King stuff got out of hand. They banned people just for making a single joke about the guy. And an obvious one at that.
And I actually saw Bubba and his dad on a "prime time" automotive show sometime last week. The name escapes me, though. I couldn't believe it!
And there's this. Someone might want to contact the Ty owner and see if he needs to contact police if he believes he may have been scammed. Considering what they did, I'd call em if it were me.

Its a shame FB ruined so many different forums. Slowly the OG guys are navigating back to forums. People in general haven't figured out that tech and how to write-ups aren't there for long on FB. And good luck buying and selling on there. Hopefully SYTY gets used more and starts to flourish.
