premium is cheaper than pistons.
I know guys who have turned the boost down and run regular before and I am sure its been done on accident from time to time.
Personally, I would never do it but if you decide to try it I would definitely stay out of the boost and run a scantool regularly.
Alky would be recommended but would also increase your fuel consumption cost up there with premium.
Its not a cheap truck man, don't skimp on it or you'll be sorry.

I run premium aswell I even drop in a little octane boost every other tank to help with 2-3(shift) knock

allegedly the person who owned mine before me ran it on nothing but 87 octane, and the motor came to me fine in mine...this by no means constitutes my advocating 87 octane, given all the issues these vehicles had with detonation with premium gas....dont do it, a good used geo metro is cheaper than fixing the damage running cheap gas in a ty/sy could do

mine is a DD and never a drop of anything but premium has gone in the tank, every car i have ever ownd took premium. that and it's only about $200 more a year in gas for my DD, less then $20 a month. Also only top tier gas goes in, Their are no cheveron or texaco near me so i stick to shell, sometimes sunoco. NEVER EVER USE WAWA GAS, i love wawa but their 92 octane junk isn't worth putting in a pinto

Mine only gets KLOTZ 116 or 118..don't remember, but then again I havent purchased any fuel for anything in over 5 months and mine is not a daily driver!
