Re: Lower Intercooler Interest.

Well talk about things going wrong, I talk with him today and we set a new time to get together for next weekend. This poor guy has to go thru a 2nd death in the family with his grandma passing. This was a really close family unlike mine.

Re: Lower Intercooler Interest.

Just got off the phone with him and it will be a little longer before we can get a price on this. I will post pictures and price as soon as possible and will make a list at that time.

Here the update: We are waiting on the people who are making the tanks to get 1 welded up for pictures and he is really back up with work. As soon as I can, I will post pictures and start a list with the price listed minus shipping.

I'm awaiting a phone call to find out the progress of the tanks. Everything else look good. I must be honest and say it taking longer then I expected, but then again it's like everything else on these trucks.

Anything custom takes time and those interested have to understand that as well. If it was a honda or firebird or camaro, they'd have spanked them out the next day. Supply and demand.

Find someone with the DeQuick W/A CCHE it was a way better design than griffin and it didn't require hacking the mounting shroud.
sorry for replying to old post, but mine should be the one and it was directly bolt on.

Yep, that's it. I had two of them before I decided to go full on custom and they were better than the Griffin for sure!

Well don´t count me in any more.
I already have one for myself.
21,5"x 3"x 8" lower CAC
When I'm going to install it, I'll post some pics

because some of you need the pics or can't wait.

Got some installation pics now. updated 1-9-2008

THIS IS ONE option. A/W intercooler in stock lower bracket.
Altering the bracket and so on will take about 4 hours when you are not prepped (well I did, just started without any knowledge),
so it is possible when you have al your tools ready to do this in about 1.5H.

what tools are needed:
medium screw driver for the hose clambs and IC pump.
philips screw driver for unscrewing the CAC frame parts.
wrenches to (un)bold the CAC frame
some sort of cutting tool, a grinder would be the best option.
drill for just 4 holes of 5mm
cutting plyer for just cutting the ty bands on the hoses
and finally a hamer when it does not fit, HIT IT HARD untill it fits

At this moment I'm making something like a tech describtion / how to do list, with pics but it takes some time to finish it.

NEW AND OLD

NEW AND OLD
IMG_0923.jpg

UPGRADED WITH A JOHNSON PUMP IN THE STOCK PLACE
WHAT TO ALTER ON THE CAC BRACKET IS:
cut away the edge at the bottom of the CAC frame
drill 4 new fixing holes to bold the frames together again.
The plastic stock level sensor on the top right has to be replaced with a 3/8 level switch.
IMG_0962.jpg

ALTERED CAC FRAME FINISHED
the flaps on the right and left cut away to fit in the new radiator so it doesn't obstruct the airflow.
IMG_0957.jpg

FIT FIRST BEFORE YOU GONNA REPIANT THE CAC FRAME
IMG_0969.jpg

IMG_0967.jpg

HOW IT WAS, YOU CAN SEE THAT THE NEW CAC IS HIGHER AND MUCH WIDER THAN ORIGINAL and it doesn't leak any more.
But also heavier than stock.

================================================== ===============

SECOND OPTION:

there is another option and that is that we throw the lower CAC bracket away and make an even wider radiator with fastening brackets welded to the radiator
in combination with an air scoop and aux.pump bracket.
The radiator then can be about 23.5"long x 4" x 10" high and that in combination with a larger (WALLER) upper IC and weve got a lot of coolling power.
