Dude, they are trying to play you. Spend 2k on a lawyer and get your 25k settlement. It's not rocket surgery.

I'm with Jimmy here I held out for some time on some car bs and finally came around with a little lawyer involvement. 2 weeks problem solved

$25K? Im all for him getting his due value on the truck, and i dislike statefarm as much as the next person. But lets be reasonable here on what a 100k mile truck is really worth..

Im sorry, but I dislike comments like this. A 24 year old truck with 100,000 miles is a low mileage truck. The average person drives 10,000 to 16,500 miles a year. His Sy averages a hair over 4,000 miles a year. How is that not low mileage?

Low mileage for a regular passenger vehicle might be that way. But low mileage for a collectable is another story. $25k? Who the hell is smoking crack. More like $10k.

Here is what my friend says who has been working for State Farm for many years says:
Sorry but this got past me. He needs to ask for someone else to handle his claim. If he can he needs to go to this office and talk to his new agent. He needs to have someone explain why they are only offering him what they are offering him. Again they can only give him payment on the kind of policy he was paying for. Sounds like basic coverage. If State Farm made an exception for him they would have to make an exception for everyone. They can't do that. They should have also sent him a letter. He needs to call and ask office for main claims phone number and ask for a supervisor. He needs to be persistent. This is about all I can do. Sorry. Love you kiddo

Even though they are claiming NADA, that's not going to be the number.

They will do ACV, which basically is what State Farm (once they get their heads out of their asses on the vehicle type) will say what they believe you could go out and buy a comparable one for cash, at the time of the loss.

I hope that OP saved the links that were posted here with the different trucks for sale back around the time that the loss happened.

Oops I missed the 100k part.It's still a 12k truck since it wasn't rusty.

What got me is one of the adjusters links listed a 9 grand MSRP. How ****ing stupid are they,or are they just playing stupid?

Think that was OP that had wrote that, not SF.

Yep I wrote to them I'd be okay with 8k and call it a day. Agreed it's a pain in the neck…And it takes time and effort. Sure enough the claims adjuster changed again this week not that this second adjuster ever called back or returned a call. Even agent is starting to duck me and won't call back. It's mind boggling. Then if it goes to arbitration don't they take average of the high and low? So in short while will beat on agent some more and try to continue to direct them to the NADA classic webpage for the $11k reference. Will keep ya posted, Pete

Man....see the pm that i sent, shoot me that info and let me craft an email for you. Seriously.
I just settled 3 insurance cases today with Progressive, The General and State Farm, all 3 of which initially came out with stupid ass offers.

Update 11/8….Still working it slowly,

Turns out claim has total been mishandled (goes without saying) by multiple bad groups in State Farm. Now been upgraded to "Team 77" , and a fellow in that group is working via the NADA value, like sent earlier. Based on what he found I'm upping my request from the $8k and fighting for much more, thankfully the original adjuster is by the wayside so I might be good. Thank goodness for that website and honestly also me bugging my agent more.

Had to fill out an Affidavit of Vehicle Theft (albeit 5 months later). And suspended coverage to avoid paying new premium bill for the truck.

Will keep you all posted but fingers still crossed for a good price,

Will PM TNPhoon for notes too,
Pete

Hi all! Great great news yesterday and a real break through. Finally got a better and truly fair offer. Now check isn't in hand and they are sending information to agent. I'm supposed to bring agent my title and then I'll get check. I'll have to see what other information unfolds. I did have receipts for everything and photos too. Figure maybe $3k in receipts engine / transmission / wheels etc. Haven't gotten a true breakdown of how they came to this amount but will try to get line by line so there's a reference line for the base value of the Sy. Had about 98500 miles and in truly great shape. Will keep all posted once check is truly in hand  Pete

Wow. I just hope this apparent lofty settlement does not spurn a rash of other "stolen" Syclones and/or Typhoons. I have no doubt yours was truly stolen but we live in a warped world.

Wow a more than fair settlement. It sounds like you deserve it after the 5 month run around with insurance giving you the insultingly low offers.

Wow. That's definitely a good enough check to buy another one with quite a lot of work done already.
