Re: My Ty-clone build thread...

Nice blazer man. On mine i just put my adjuster block in the lowest possible position in the torsion bar crossmember by the lip so i could drop mine 5 inches, and didnt have to pay the obsurd price for new keys, but none the less it looks good.

Any other major mods planned?

well your pinion angle can get too steep if you lower it enough, so u will go through u-joints faster and can have a shake. Angled plates will correct it.

Thanks man...

It has the lowering keys adjusted all the way down as is. They actually weren't that expensive if you order them straight from Belltech instead of throught a middleman. Summit's price was outrageous, literally twice as much. I also heard that going down more than about 3" puts the CV joints at too harsh of an angle and wears them out.

I am just working on ironing everything out for now. I will be starting body work and getiing new paint when I run out of little gremlins to fix (porbably next spring). I may do a little bit of airbrushing either on the inside or outside when I get a little more practice in. Some engine tuning too. I want to get it at least to high 12's. It is a weekend car, so I may do a frame-off restoration next year when I get into the paint. A lot depends on where I am living and working next year!

It needs nothing, but I am going to tune it with a bigger turbo and other little stuff. Well I will not be on here much anymore so good bye y'all.

.............................what's that supposed to mean? :D As much as I miss straight-line acceleration, it's a LOT of fun not having to slow down nearly as much for corners while auto-xing my wagon.
