Curious because ive put in 42.5# injectors in my truck and its running pretty good.It idles perfect which I thought was gonna be way off, but it runs a little rich when im on it.I do have the FPR adj. all the way out so theres no more adjustability to it but up.Im gonna redo my 38's and put them in but wanted to know how I can get more air other then a bigger turbo?I have a KB cold air kit thats not in yet but have a open filter on stock crossover pipe.So getting that on, but would getting a larger bore or having the stock bored larger help much?Havent got my tuning equipment yet, but trying to get it as close before I start tuning. Thanks!!!

I would get my tuning equipment before you make too many changes especially in the fueling department.

It's best to work from close to the engine outward, in theory. Your throttle body and intercooler are going to restrict airflow, even on a stock turbo. Getting the TB bored (52mm vs. stock 48mm ) will get you some better airflow, as will a high capactiy intercooler and the cold air intake. After that, you're going to need to start changing compressor housings to get more air in there... until you hit the limits of the LB4 heads, of course

Re: Need more air!!

You dont need more air to match the injectors flow increase, you need the chip worked to tell the injectors how long to fire with the setup the way it is. Adding "more air" will just add more fuel, because the ECM is reading load and adjusting the fuel curve accordingly- but it thinks you have smaller injectors. I bet that your maxing the ECM's enleanment almost constantly. Hook up a scan tool and check your BLM's and INT's, or a wide band would be even better.

Re: Need more air!!

I actually put the 42#s because the stocker died and I got these real cheap.I had the stock intake on it and at idle I was always getting a code 42(o2 to rich).so I changed to a open air on stock xover and it went away. Now it idles at 14.0-14.9 and under a load it runs at 12's.When I let off the gas and coast it goes to 9 till I give it throttle. It never really leans out.I havent done a DM run yet.Hoping to get my Ostrich in a week or two.Might be getting a KB a2a CHEAP!!
