Hi everyone my name is Christian and I am the very proud owner of a 92 Typhoon #0687. Happy to be here and share my build with everyone. Quick history of "Myphoon". I purchased it a few miles from my house sitting in the back of a garage. I have driven past it for about a year. I didn't believe it was a true TY. So I continued with my other projects 85 Chevy K20 and my Camaro. Well bored with both of those and my passion for building my dream car I sold my other toys in search of a project TY. Since my sons share my extreme obsession with cars and they syty's, I was forced by my 12 year old to go look into the nearby TY. The owner of the garage informed me it was an all original TY that his best friend owned and he had past away. The previous owner of the TY loved this truck so much and the mileage showed 174k. The owner of the garage didn't want to sell it but after talking to him and explaining I'm in search of a Typhoon and it's a lifelong project for me and my sons he made me a deal. 6k and it's mine as long as I make it as good or better then his friend wanted. I agreed and now this bad boy is in my garage awaiting a massive overhaul. I know I overpaid for the truck. High mileage with rot beind rocker cladding and rear quarter cladding. The body paint and cladding are great besides that and interior is mint. Excited to share my new experience with everyone :)

Best of luck with your project it's great that your sons share your passion for sytys, what made you think it wasn't a true typhoon?

I'm 35 and I've personally only seen 1 Syclone and I was in my late teens and have never seen a Typhoon. The fact that one was sitting a mile from my house out in the weather for 2 years made me believe someone just put TY stickers on it. Keep in mind I could only see the ass end too.

Great to have another SYTY enthusiast up here in Ct. I am in the North east corner in Woodstock. I am not the most knowledgable guy on here for sure but if I can help you in any way just ask. Welcome to the list.

Truck should be black/black.

That is correct! I've personally always wanted white/white however considering how many were made I'm not sure painting it is a good option. On the other hand since I'm doing other modifications it might not matter anyways. I guess when the time comes I'll ask the opinions of fellow SyTy owners. Thanks for the welcome and look forward this experience. I don't post much I am more of a lurker but I'm fairly active on Facebook SyTy.
