New member registration?

Is it meant to be disabled? I assume there have been issues with spammers and such. Was just curious. There are a few fellas that are being directed to this site for answers and parts and they are unable to register.

If it's to help control spammers, trust me I understand that.

if you know these people personally, have them give you a desired screen name and their email address, then PM the info to me and I can email them registration info.
