New owner in Georgia

I bought my '93 Typhoon on 29 Aug 2009 from the original single owner and I am trying to find out what production number my truck is? I checked on www.sportmachines.com and if what I found on that site coincides with the last 4 numbers of my VIN (0291), then I believe my Typhoon was production number 291. Am I correct, or am I off-track? If I am off-track, is there someone or somewhere I can ask to get the correct information? Thank you.

Typhoon VINs are nonsequential, but we just use the last 4 of their VINs for convenience. Syclone VINs are sequential.

And Welcome.

Welcome.
I see the Army is still doing this. I am from Georgia and was stationed in Texas...twice. Bliss and Hood. Btw, where exactly? Stewart, Benning, Gordon?

Awesome another Gast member. There are a few of us here in Ga and have meets ever now and again. But i our biggest meet is going to be the Shindig and it is going to be a blast. If you need any help with it you have some people that are not too far away from you and also I travel some and could stop but if need be.

Congradulations.

Welcome to the site! How does it run? These are fun trucks, just read a lot on here, and ask questions, there are a lot of people that have been amazing resources for me!

Welcome to the club. Jimmy and I both live about 30 minutes North of Ft. Stewart, so anytime you wanna hang out or do some wrenching....let us know. PM me your truck info, and I'll add you to the member directory.

Re: New owner in Georgia

Here is my truck info, at least as much as I've figured out so far:

1993 Typhoon #0291
Black/black
No performance mods...yet!!

I do have a couple of minor issues I'll have to address soon. It has a small rear main seal leak and the valve guide seals are gonna need fixing. Looking at the Chilton's on the truck, I found out that I'll have to have the whole head serviced in order to fix that. Other than that, the truck runs OUTSTANDING! It moves like a bullet when goosed and is a good all-around driver. Let me know if you need any other information on the truck to add it to the directory. I registered it with www.sportmachines.com to get on their directory. Once I get settled in Stewart, I'd definitely be interested in finding out more. I got into the Syclones and Typhoons from a high school buddy of mine back when they first came out and always thought it would just be a dream and nothing more. I finally was able to get one and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm a mechanic in the Army and my dad was also a mechanic in the Army and with the US Post Office, so I do have a solid background knowledge-wise. I taught myself stereo installation and did my own install in the Typhoon. Here are a couple of pics of it a couple of weeks after I bought it.

Hooray, my secondary MOS 63SH8...well back when there was a difference btwn Bravos and Sierras.

John Waller may be talking to you soon-ish...he has a growing Motor Pool of his own. Well, enough that he should start thinking about bumper numbers to tell them apart.

I had a ball in Korea (the times that I can remember), but then I only had to be there 1 yr...I understand that's been changed to 18 months.

...and lucky you, sitting right on top of the Shindig and Hood's backyard.

Cool, welcome to the board! I work at the Fort Stewart Commissary in the Meat Dept. You can come by anytime and I can hook you up with some great steaks!

Anytime you want to see my trucks, like Mike said, I'm about 40 minutes away from Stewart, in Pooler.

Anyway, welcome and thank you for your service to our great country!

Talk to you soon,
Jimmy

Oh, I did my 10 years...out now, living in Dahlonega, Ga. Been to Stewart...several times, both Active duty and NoGo (GARNG). Might take you up on the steaks, but I'll take a pass on getting stationed there.
