Just wanted to say what's up to the SyTy world and introduce myself. I've been a member for a lil under a year now buy have folowwed the forum for a few years.I found my 92 Typhoon #1061 in December/2013. I actually got this truck from 92tyLA1 (Sam, really nice guy) and I can't tell you how much I enjoy driving it. I flew down to SoCal and immediately fell in love with the truck. Maybe wanting one since I was about 13yrs old had something to do with it as well:lol: Just wondering if there's ever any meets in the bay area or near?? Would love to get together with other SyTy guys talk about the in's and out's of these trucks. Also to see others rides. I will get some pics up soon.

Well there used to be the occasional get together in the south bay but those two owners sold theirs so things kinda petered out. I'm up in Santa Rosa but would be more than willing to come to a meeting at a more central location.

Notwithstanding that Torrance and the Bay Area are 6+ hours apart... :rotf:

Another new member.

Welcome to the Fun House. I know it killed Sam to get rid of her. Hope you didn't mind the HVAC "work" that was done to it. :rotf:

Re: New Ty owner in the Bay Area

Thx for the welcome. Really wish there would be some kind of meet in the bay. Maybe one day I can start one:D. Yeah it hurt Sam to let it go. I actually felt bad for the guy but the truck is in really good hands. I can almost say they're going to burry me with it.. Lol. The hvac?? I honestly didn't have a problem. Out here in California doesn't get to hot or cold. Although I sometimes wish it still had the a/c. My kids complain about the heat. Dammmm kids!

Re: New Ty owner in the Bay Area

Well I attempted a get-together a few years ago. I have a great spot, tons of room, things to see. I might even be able to get some other cars if we wanted. It would have to be BBQ/pick-nick style. There are a couple of issues. It's a long drive for everyone except me. And I'll have to check again but last time I would have had to rent a porta-pody. That and the food. I know the owner of the property so the rest should be free.

That sounds like fun. The driving distance is usually the case. Santa Rosa I guess isn't to far for me but I'm sure its quite a distance for others. Well if one ever goes down, I"m there!:D I think for me, meeting new people that like/have the same trucks is always a good thing. Seeing more of them since they are very rare around here is exiting. Seeing their rides and ideas is how the generations keep learning. I go to the Goodguys car shows to check out peoples creativeness on their cars/trucks. Over all, I think I'm just really happy to finally own one.

Just saw the new post. Nice. I've been wondering if there was anyone else in the Bay Area interested in getting together. My trucks are all in need of some attention. Having a meet set would give me incentive to get at least one up and running. :) 92 TY - totaled, 93Ty - runner needs work and a Syclone basket case. Just got the Syclone in September.

I'm down near San Jose.

Haha me to. To be honest, out of all the times I've been there I've only seen one or two Syclones and a few Typhoons. The same thing, owners are out checking out the scene so its not easy to talk to them. In my life time, in person Ive only seen 3 Syclone's...including mine.. They are very rare beast around here it seems. Maybe one day,us bay guys can gather together to talk'it up or even a small cruise around.:2cents:

Re: New Ty owner in the Bay Area

I've never done the Good Guys show. Meeting there and showing together would be fun. A cruise would be fun just no clue on putting one together. There are a few decent shows up this direction also. I'll do a little investagating. One big one is on fathers day here in Santa Rosa. I've shown there, very few people knew what they were looking at. The ones that did were happy to see it. It's mostly for the older cars both hot rods and restored cars.

That makes 2 of us. Yeah...I think meeting at the good guys is a great idea. Will have to be in April/May sometime for the next one. Or if there's other shows up north, would be just as good.
