Here is a vid of the Sy's exhaust after I hacked the cat and mufflers off. Its way too loud for the street. You guys running open pipes on the street are crazy. Enjoy.

yeah I love it.

All I have is a 3" DP, dumps at the passengers feet.

It is going to net me a ticket here soon though.
I passed a county the other day and he flipped a u turn.
I ducked behind the bank to the ATM and killed the motor until he had passed by.

That's one of the reasons I haven't been driving my truck... even though it's running again. My exhaust is cut right at the end of the downpipe... So I'm basically open too.

Cops will pull you over in Greeley just for tint too dark... I don't want to give them a reason to enforce the noice ordinance. :squint:

hah thats how mine is, I have the cutout right before the cat and muffler, makes your ears bleed.

I have hear other turbo vehicles with open exhaust and none sound that dam loud.

my buddys GN has a 3" DP with a cutout at about the same location. it sounds like a stock car..lol. the turbo is insanely loud..i love it. the turbo just screams, it definetly would get alot of attention. though after about 3 days i would get sick of it.


get a video of when your driving and what it sounds like. im curious to hear it.

My exhaust is cut after the cat and it's OK, doesn't sound great but certainly not loud enough to get a ticket.

What's that metal to metal sound in the vid?

There is no metal sound. Just the turbo and the cracking of each piston fireing. Way too loud!

Same here, loud exhausts SAVE lives dontcha know ! However I got two months ago for mine. Fortunately, the officer was more interested in checking out my truck than writing me a citation

. One member on here who I met a few weeks ago described my truck as "crazy loud". My bud says that he can hear my turbo even when I an behind him. I plan to get a cutout on the near future.

I'm running 3" DP, 3" cat no muffler, side exhaust, stock turbo. Yes it's a bit loud but I kinda like it. I can "control" the sound with the pas window. What's funny is the wife hasn't said anything. Like, isn't it kinda LOUD? :roll: I'm just very soft on the throttle when she's along.

I just put a tail pipe on. Its not as loud was it was. I think its more just getting the noise out from under the cab and puting it out the rear. I can atleast stand it now. I do turn a lot more heads and people are always saying "nice truck." Its funny they never noticed before. The wonders of a good exhaust note.

That is going to be my next step. It sounds great with the turbo. My buddy's GN has a T-44 turbo without the cat and the turbo sounds awesome. I have the ATR 3" full exhaust. I am going to pull the cat and leave the muffler. Do you guys have any boost problems without the cat? Thanks.

my 93 s-10 swapped with a vortec 350 cammed with a new intake mani is open header talk about loud.....the cops pulled me over and just wanted to check out my truck...no tickets only a warning to watch out for other cops that wont be so nice

Well in 2 bar MAP mode I had problems with running a bit over 14.7 psi. Now with the 3 bar I can run any boost I want thats reasonably safe. I only get boost spikes of 1 or 2 psi at the very most. I just keep an eye on the knock light. For the most part my boost has been pretty solid. Not bad for a straight through exhaust and the stock wastegate.

im thinking about cutting off my cat and running open dp...just a stock dp. should i do it? i want to get insane turbo noise....lol. im ready to put my ty away around next week or so. so im thinking about doing it. is it worth it?????
