Re: Southeast SyTy Shindig - Location Planning

Not that I'm electing anyone by any means, but these are the most prominent names (IMO) from each state yet to be accounted for:

- SC - Waller or Longwith
- NC - Cheryl or Eric
- TN - Jimmy or Joe or T-Bone
- AL - Ashley

It'd be cool to see these people (or anyone) step up and head up their state's participation.

Pacino's is the best? I can see that place from my hotel, but I've never been in it. When you are there do you ever go to the Saturday night cruise at Old Town? It's across the street from Pacino's and it's one of the biggest weekly car cruises in the US. They cruise newer cars on Friday nights and motorcycles on Thursday night(hundreds of them).

Any other ideas on good places to go in the Orlando area? I'm always on the look out.

i used to go down to fl twice a year when i had money then i did not go for a couple years and i have been back down 2 times in the last 6 months. i would like to head back down around feb if i can get off work. i normally just get a house with heated pool and jacuzzi. hang and eat pacinos. sometimes i rent a airboat of small electric motor boat , just hang see old friends and do some photography.

and yes i make special trips just to eat diner i would say it is worth it. i know they have one in miami to but i dont know if they ever got another one built like they said they had planned. from going so much we knew the managers and got free deserts 10% and good cuts. now i am hungry thinking about it.

I'm thinking of going to this just because it's in Orlando. I've never flown anywhere just to eat, but I usually know where I'm going to eat months before I go to Orlando and plan my other activities around that.

By the way, if your up there on a Sunday try the brunch at the gaylord palms resort hotel. It's about a mile from Pacino's. It's expensive, at least 30 bucks, but it's a really cool place. The middle of the hotel is a huge open atrium enclosed in glass and climate controlled to 72 degrees 24-7-365. It's about 5 or 6 acres and a hundred feet high with ponds and streams with fish, turtles and alligators(little ones), kind of like a rain forest. It's like the restaurants are outside but they're not. If I was there in the summer when it's 95 degrees out, it's one of the places I'd go to escape the heat.

I go to Florida every February for the winter nationals at old town. I think it's the 7th thru the 10th, this year. Info is at classicchevy.com. It's a big car show, classic chevy's from 1955 to 1972 or so and all years of camaro. PLUS their normal weekly cruise, if the weather is good 700 to 800 cars on Saturday night.
