Time for change...bye-bye Ty

Well, an unexpected time of change is upon me. I just found out that we're gonna have baby number three. (I think I've finally figured out what's causing this!) Needless to say, the Ty just isn't going to cut it as a "family rig" anymore. I've had it for 5-1/2 wonderful years, but it's time to move on and get something bigger. I'm gonna fix the few things that are wrong with it, and sell it to a good friend of mine. At least I'll know that it's being taken good care of.

I'm happy but sad at the same time.

By the way--does anyone know if the Trailblazer SS is available with a third row seat?

Sell the formula, buy a TBSS and keep the Ty. Everybody wins!

TBSS seats 5 adults comfortably

there's no 3rd row seating, 2008 will be the last production year.

Get the rear DVD system for the kids. :tup:

A Trailblazer will not last long in the room for 3 kids and stuff catagory. Need a Tahoe. More money but worth it (IMO). Believe it or not, the TB is already outdated.

We are thinking about number three as well. I have never used the Ty as a baby hauler. We have a TBSS and it is fine for two little ones, but three is pushing it. We also have a Mercury Mountaineer with the third seat. Here is the problem with that set-up: If you have kids that are small enough to still require a safety seat then you want to put them on each side of the middle seat. Well, the sides of the middle seat articulate up and forward allowing you to access the third seat. With the safety seats strapped in you can't do that. If you put the two safety seats side-by-side you can get one side to release and move but it still rubs the side of the safety seat just barely working at all. I am going to unbolt the middle section of the middle seat and remove it thereby turning it into two "buckets" so my oldest can get between them and into the back seat. It seems like all the SUV's with a third row are essentially the same in this regard. I hate to say it, but a minivan is probably the most user friendly family hauler. But I would keep the Ty if possible. I just looked at some nice fairly low mile vans for less than $10K. Good luck!!

when i looked at the tbss online last year there was a ext version available, i have just never seen it...
