tire selection for stock wheels

Got a flat tire, Thanksgiving night, in New England, wich means I got very cold and wet. Anyways I'm now looking into 4 new tires and am looking for recomendations. The ones on it now are BF Goodrich comp ta's stock size. Also while I'm at it I figured it would be a good time to have the stock wheels reconditioned/rebalanced etc...Does anybody know of a good shop to do this work, preferably in the Southern New England area. Thanks, Dan

What are you looking for in a tire? Me? I want the best handling tire available in the stock size. I think that's a throw off between Goodyear Eagle GS-D3's, BFG G-Force TA KDW's, or Michelin Pilot Sports. I went with the GY's due to price and availablility.

Welp, probly a combonation of decent handling and decent snow/ice traction....looking at BFG Traction TA's v-speed rated. Would really like to clean up those stock wheels if any one knows of a place...

I've heard decent stuff about Traction T/A's. I also believe that Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's come in the stock size. Those would handle quite nicely, and still give you at least some traction in the snow or ice, though not as much as other tires, but probably a good balance. But they're spendy!

BTW, I just drove the F1's in the snow for the first time earlier this week. My god, those did nothing but slide, as I expected, but it sure was fun!

If you want something with a good balance, just look for something made by a quality brand, with at least a V speed rating, with an M+S rating.
