pppssssshhhhhtttttttttttt
Which are the best choice for a 412 or 415 cammed stock turbo'd engine? I am new to the 4.3's so I was curious of everyones opinions, thanks ---

alwayscode390 said:Hmmm I never knew you had to upgrade your turbo when you upped the cam, this is all new to me. What turbo works good with the 412/415 comp cam then?! ---

.....where as I have ported Vortecs, a 412 and a stock-ish turbo....I'm definitely going to run out of turbo before I run outflow the heads, but I got to stick with a stock downpipe, air intake system, oil and turbo drain and feeds, etc. It was a financial issue that I can toss bigger crap at if I want to later on.93TyGuy said:FWIW I will be running heavily ported L35s with my comp 422 and PTE 67dual ball bearing

By the way John, I finally, FINALLY got everything dialed in (seems 32lb fuel pressure was pretty darn close; left DM at work and will confirm tonight) and took the bitch out for a dirt road run; she really cranks. I was only able to get maybe 2-3psi out of it before it went wildly out of control on the gravel, but it was a good feeling to be tossed back in the seat again. Thanks again for all of the support and stupid questions over the last year.

FWIW I will be running heavily ported L35s with my comp 422 and PTE 67dual ball bearing till I can afford to build my Pontiacs up. (They cost big $$ I have found out)

????alwayscode390 said:I think I found a set of VORTEC heads for about $200 complete. The guy selling says they will fit on 96-99 4.3's. Will they just "bolt on" to our engines too?! I keep reading something about not being able to adjust the valves.... is that a problem I should consider? These are casting # #12556140, and he said would interchange with casting # #10235772. What are OUR stock castings? I also found some that are casting # 12561107 (not sure but if its close, lol )...are they the same? I plan on running some 1.6 roller rockers. Thanks ---
