Waller built Turbo

Bought used from a member 7yrs ago and only unpackaged it to check out .was told it had approx 2K miles on it. You probably look up on the forums for in the old for sale ads in Feb 09 by SkyeTy who I bought it from. There are pics there, since I don't have privilege to attach photos . $400 plus shipping, might be able USPS Flate rate large.usps boxes not too sturdy.

I don't know squat about turbos and might have thought what I purchased was believed at the time it was what it is. Anyway I just used the pt calipers and the inlet is 54mm- the wheel (don't know to count) is 6/12 blade, the exhaust port stamp 8 , the dos pipe size is 55.75mm with the impeller being 12 blades.

Re: Waller built Turbo

What size exhaust housing is on that turbo?? Should have a number stamped on the inside of the exhaust housing inlet: 8,10,12, or 14... If it's a 14 or maybe a 12, I may have to buy it..

Thanks,

Re: Waller built Turbo

Looks like his standard 'upgrade' wheel that I believe is a Garrett T3/T4 T04E Turbo Compressor Wheel 448048-0004. IMO that is a nice little upgrade from the stock SyTy wheel that fits into our compressor housing with just machining required to match/provide clearance for that wheel. I guess the turbine wheel is the stock 12 blade and 8cm housing yes?

Re: Waller built Turbo

Sorry about my confusion . I don't really know about turbos- all I knew when I bought it it was an upgrade. I edited my original post and if anyone can shed more light - I would appreciate it.Do I I need to separate the housing to get more measurements ?

I personally dont think you need to do anything else, you have described it as best and as accurately as you can and it has been followed up with the post you bought it from.

Based on the questions you have been asked and if the centre section is as good as you and the previous post have described it, you have it offered at more than a fair price. Hopefully any scalpers will miss it.

Unless you want to elaborate some on the wastegate and exhaust manifold to inlet matching that I assume has been performed - yes? (a point that I believe and hope you dont mind me saying have undersold) to help control boost, you have it right.
If I didn't already have one, I'd be all over this. Good Luck with your sale.
